I’m confused as to why this is unfriendly to mainland China. I suppose it may have something to do with China’s intense respect for history, but I’d love to hear someone more familiar weigh in on the subject.
China is a nation which cares very much about history. China has historically had important ties with Russia, particularly back in the Mao Zedong days. This history likely informs their closeness with Russia far more than anything going on immediately today. They see themselves as an embarrassed nation and seek some level of equality in the global system. This is very predictable and altogether not all that concerning.
I mean for what it’s worth, as my income has gone up I’ve chosen more expensive ingredients for cooking. Usually those things are more local anyway, like at my local farmers market or food co-op.
Yeah those do exist but they tend to be the exception and not the rule. And anyone working minimum wage is gonna avoid using it because they’re close to starvation a lot of the time. I’ve been there
