Yeah, I have that at home but never bothered to set that up when outside the house. This just lets me do whatever while waiting at the doctors office or whatnot.

It works great as a poor man’s ad blocker.

Would the courts laugh at it? I believe it is up to the states to decide how they want to choose their electors, and it is just tradition that dictates they go to the popular vote. In fact, this is the way the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is designed to get rid of the electoral college.

I would bet they WANT to courts to come in and decide that a state MUST deliver their delegates to the popular vote so that the NPVIC is dead in the water.

That is my understanding. You could just have a bunch of generic trains and let them go where they are needed.

I think the priority settings will be most useful with some circuit controls. They could cause problems where only the iron outpost gets used if they are set incorrectly. But that could probably be fixed with just more trains.

I’m excited about the train changes. I have been playing with the LTN mods for a while and I think the way that the interrupts they are bring in will be much better.

Right out of the box I can see using this much more than the reprogrammable assemblers but those might grow on me with the limited space of the transport ships.

I still have my WRT54G around somewhere. Loved that thing. What I found interesting was that when the firmware went open demand for that model went through the roof. Wish more companies would realize that there is a demand for that market.

I personally would not use it for anything that is being saved on your drive. Using cpu encoder is slower but I just let it run over night or whatever and it will be done later.

Save GPU encoding for when you need it smaller right now like when you are transcoding on the fly.

I generally think that for storage/archiving you should use CPU encoding and only use GPU for things like transcoding where real-time results are crucial.

GPU encoding is a lot worse quality than CPU, and you can’t change the settings to what you want. Better to just accept the extra time requirement to get a better result.

I would try making one video into the format you want and see if it plays where you want it.

I like the interface of Airsonic, but it looks like it hasn't been updated in 4 years, and Airsonic-advanced hasn't had any action since February of last year for the experimental branch or 2020 for the stable branch.

What do people use? I tried Navidrome a while back and wasn't happy for some reason. Should I try it again?

Honestly, the problem is that "AI" is a dumb term that is way over used in these situations. Outside of Science Fiction, AI has generally been used to describe what "the next big thing" computers can do.

Using a term like "Large Language Model" to refer to ChatGPT explains what it actually does. Or Deep-Learning Text to image models for the image generation.

I remember playing around with TTS on a Apple ][ plus as a kid, there is nothing new about that, but using statistical models to have them imitate a voice is new, but just lumping them all in with Artificial Intelligence, is just dumb.

Yeah, but matching TTS to a character’s voice is where you would need it.

This is one sector where I am actually happy for AI to be available. I want to play a game where the NPC's can say my character name.

That being said, I also want the voice actors to be compensated fairly. Maybe the guilds can set up a deal where using someone's voice for training data is included.

She is in her 80's. I mostly just explained WHY she would need one, and promised once she was done with the transition, things would be easier. Her old password method was a weathered old piece of paper with everything scribbled down on it, with lots of old pet names and other animals with random numbers attached.

Now she is very happy with being able to have all of her passwords ready either on her computer, phone, or iPad, and she feels a lot more secure with the long random passwords.

It's a good excuse to use your old router on a separate network for those devices. If you have a smart enough switch, you can even keep them completely off your LAN, which can be good for security. YMMV though, and if you need direct access it won't work that way.
