Or in Canada. We pay out the nose for our phone plans, but at least we can use our data however we want.

I do not like Seth's humor... But I really like the Orville. Besides the first 3 episodes, the humor is a nice Ballance, and really feels like Star Trek.

I agree that subscription fatigue is a huge thing, and I avoid services as a rule of thumb unless there are real reasons for the subscription, ie ongoing usage based costs.

That said, I view $2 a month as a reasonable subscription cost, and if Reddit had charged that I would have happily paid it to keep bacon reader. It's only the one time payment cost that is very steep ($99).

Reminds me of a short story, where a girl is sent to a VR planet, for robots studying humans

There she has a.. VR coffin, which she slowly learns can perfectly simulate reality, or the AI will send probes for her to experience things in reality.

She eventually realizes that they will make perfect human proxies, and starts to plan her escape from her VR coffin
