  • The fact that you can connect literally any device in the world to a windows machine and it just automagically works in a few seconds is something people don’t appreciate enough. Im sure microsoft put a lot of effort into that, and constantly is.

Let me plug this web cam to my linux daily driver. Oh wait, I need to check exactly what chip its running and if that specific version is supported on my specific distro and specific version. And then I find out yes it is supported but its still missing auto exposure compensation for some reason. And of course I have to install it first and all its dependencies from that specific repo im using.

    Easy.

  • You do know its much safer and much more highly available to store it in a cloud rather than a piece of plastic, right? In a cloud you get it raided on multiple sites, etc… obv. Depends on how much you pay. Dont forget that CDs in their best of best conditions had a lifetime of merely 10 years. Dont know how much this new media holds with such density…

And you do own the data, read the contracts.

  • If you have like 1-2 petabytes of data to upload to amazaon, sure, they have that special truck you can use. Otherwise, 200tb, i think it would be faster to upload it rather than travel to their offices.

And dont forget its only going to get even faster. Whilst the media isnt going to get bigger at the same rate.

  • Im peeling the dead skin off my feet. Doing it right now. I can do it for hours. I may loose sleep and miss the whole night just coz I have that litle last bit that I need to take off.

At the end theres like 100grams of foot on the floor.

  • IIDF literally raided Hammas server farm which was in a tunnel directly under Unrwa command center with all the electricity and optical cables coming from Unrwa itself. Thats probably gonna produce terabytes of intelligence for the next few years.
