Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur

This channel focuses on exploring concepts in science with an emphasis on futurism and space exploration, along with a healthy dose of science fiction. While we explore many concepts and technologies that are far beyond us now, we try to keep everything inside the bounds of known science or major theories.

Scurvy is treated with Vitamin C, which is found in lots of fruit juices. The connection is obvious.

Not to mention zombie fires that have been smoldering underground all winter.

It's a fork bomb. It exponentially forks processes in the background in an attempt to consume all CPU cycles.

I frequently have that problem with redgifs on the website too. Even when I go directly to redgifs. Just earlier today, I was browsing and more than half the gifs I was trying to view failed to load, or were very slow to load. I've been having this same problem with redgifs for as long as redgifs has been a thing. I don't think the issue is with Sync, but with redgifs.

I did this once. But only once. The panic I felt in that moment is something I will never forget. I was able to restore the data from a recent backup before it became a problem, though.

I had a similar problem with one of my displays going wibbly like that every time I rebooted during POST and system boot. Only going back to normal once X started.

When I checked my monitor's display settings when it was wonky, I found that it had the refresh rate set to 14hz and really strange resolution. Turns out it was the display port cable. Replacing that fixed it right up.

Your spoiler tag works fine on the web client. That is the supported way to do spoilers on Lemmy. However, Sync, if you use that doesn't support Lemmy spoilers and only supports reddit spoilers. Unfortunately no matter what spoiler method you use, it will not work for someone, somewhere. There is no unified spoiler markup across the fediverse, but there really should be.

To be fair, so is Christopher Lloyd. Just a different sort of cartoon.

I saw this getting traction on Tik Tok a few days ago warning rightsholders they have until, I think, Mar 5th to pull their content from the platform.

I don't know what that is, but it feels to me like it might be a fork bomb.

I'd argue that Ears is even better knowing he's deaf. And what does he care, he can't hear you anyway.

Unfortunately, there isn't a spoiler format that works for all cases. There's not much you can do. It was just a warning since you were obviously trying to mark spoilers I thought I'd let tou know they just don't work.
