I am not going make any predictions, but with the expansion of anti-regime protests, it seems that the situation is entering a new phase.
As the old saying goes, "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen."
While I agree that American security forces tend to have what I call "wannabe cowboy syndrome" (I have firsthand experiences when I was living and travelling to the US), I would also consider more base human reactions with respect to the attitude of the security services.
No one wants to be the one forced to do the dirty work and take the bulk of the risk. This is human nature. And at some point US security forces might question whether they want to take the heat for some oligarchs and other senior criminals.
I would also question the willingness of the US pro-oligarch plebs to actually engage in "war". There is a lot of crazies (especially with the militia LARP that's popular in the US), but the average pro-corruption American arguably has a very low tolerance for challenges. It's one thing to talk big and another thing to well actually put your life on the line (engaging in "war" also means there is a solid chance you get hit).
Just some thoughts from someone who has loved in both the US and Ukraine (this were I currently live too).
These sort of things have a life of their own and it only becomes clear in retrospective.
In Ukraine that point was when the government started killing protesters during Maidan (Feb 2014), that's when many people (who were generally strongly opposed to violence) started to believe that protestors fighting back was justified.
For me, as a Ukrainian, it's surreal to read about this sort of news in the US.
I will note that Maidan protest against Yanukovich, the traitor and russian agent, accelerated in February 2014 (they had been going on since 2013) when Yanukovich tried to criminalise protest including specifically targeting covering your face.
At any rate, I have a feeling the situation in the US is entering a make or break phase. Good luck and courage to all sane Americans.
As someone who has lived in the US (and travelled extensively), but is not a US citizen, this is the kind of stuff that makes me believe that sane Americans are unfortunately incapable of getting their country back from the oligarchs and the racists.
If the Democrats were not corrupt and had balls (no sexism intended), they would be openly supporting the LA protests and trying to establish a Trump free zone in LA were Trump shills and lackeys would be interned and Trump "laws" would not be followed.
Unfortunately, most Americans are only good at talking about freedoms and most are too lazy and corrupt to actually follow through.
I was honestly surprised that they went with such a statement. Putin is smart enough (smarter than much of the US) to understand that Trump is a lazy degenerate, but it seems a bit premature to openly ridicule Trump.
Ukrainian, living in Kyiv (have lived in other cities too).
It does seem that Kyiv has by far the best AA defence systems in the country. For what it's worth, I'd rather they target Kyiv if that helps blunt the impact of the attacks.
That being said, it's not fun to have constant shockwaves and loud noises from explosions/takedowns all night. Not to mention the risk of death/getting wounded and/or having your apartment be heavily damaged.
Best option would be if all regions could have an AA defence comparable to Kyiv, but unfortunately that's not possible.
I am not American (have lived there and have travelled across the country), but either option doesn't really change anything in terms of broad social support for corruption and degenerate behaviour (head doctor going for a swim with his granddaughter in a river polluted by waste water).
Considering the premeditated attempts to mortally harm people via the disorderly shutting down of the USAID, we should be aiming beyond prison.
30 years community service as a live-in junior janitor at an infectious disease hospital in Laos with heavily restricted access to communication devices. Musk will be required to work hard and with absolute commitment to his junior janitor position.
Additionally all his assets should be seized and requiring anyone who interacted with Musk to sign an affadavid stating that if they are in any way caught hiding money for Musk, they took will doing a 30 year community service program and have all their assets seized. Affidavit would be valid for life.
Is there some truth to what Tesla responded with? Very likely.
Where is the proof? Why didn't Tesla sue Reuters if they are lying?
Factually speaking, it was considered not true, but he also didn’t fight it as they were threatening the existence of the company at a very difficult time so he settled with the SEC.
Conspiracy theory bullshit. Where is the proof?
I bring it up because it’s the same new manufacturing process as the 25k car. It’s a wholly new way to manufacture cars
Where is the proof other than corporate PR? Send me a BOM analysis based on current estimates (with details) and other relevant financial details. This is not a big ask, there are solid BOM analyses for many "leading edge" hardware products (I've done professional work on this, so I would know).
The point I am making is that I am not buying your "judicial roleplay" (pretending that this is a court of law with all the theatrics about the nature of proving something). Not to mention it's pretty sophomoric of you to assume that unless a (US!) court rules on something, then we have to immediately defer to corporate PR copytext and we cannot make any analysis beyond that.
I've lived in the US. I know how badly Americans reflexively react to someone not buying into their local assumptions. So in a sense I understand you.
But that doesn't mean I am going to buy into your bullshit.
One other option beyond BDS (and not involving an invasion) would be countries removing diplomatic recognition of Israel and expelling all Israeli diplomats.
This is of course easier said than done, but it's far more viable than any other alternative courses of action.
The "muh MSM clickbait" is just American-style intellectual laziness on your part. Where is your proof for this?
Why doesn't Musk sue them if they are lying?
So do you have insider information or not? If not, why bring up the cybercab or whatever? Are you saying you are the only one who knows about it and you're claiming that Reuters ignored this info and just want to get clicks. Where is your proof for this?
Did Musk not lie about "deal accomplished". Wasn't this even proven in some US institution (SEC if I remember correctly?)?
