No the rumour is about the other controversial political group, women. How dare amazon insert politics into my fascist parody plastic soldiers misery porn?!

So in case anyone wonders what that unhinged excuse for a sentence is supposed to mean: there is a rumour that came from a random unverified 4chan post that amazon wanted a woman in power armour and a sister of battle wasn't good enough. Which is why there's a female custodian in the latest codex.

The rumour also states that cavill now wants to leave. The source is about as trustworthy as something sharpied on a highschool bathroom wall and was only spread by angry youtubers that got suddenly into 40k without realising it started of as a parody of fascism. So I wouldn't be too worried honestly.

Yeah I think I saw one maybe one and bits of another episode. I knew of it though but I'm in Europe and didn't even know what the flag meant. Different times I suppose.

You know what's even worse? He's wrong. It doesn't mean house master it means court master. It's what you call a chamberlain for a royal court or other nobility.

It wasn't a slave thing, it was usually considered a position of honour.

Honestly also some very non niche things that are big on reddit aren't much of a thing here. Like the Netherlands subreddit is the second largest non English speaking sub. It's barely a thing on Lemmy.

Honestly I'm engaging more on lemmy in comments but if you manage to create a nice list of fun subs to follow on reddit a lot of complaints about bots and stuff are less problematic. Then again I also follow some Dutch subs and they seem to have less bots with the language barrier and all.

Lemmy does seem to be more negative though. A lot of doom and gloom here. I'm not really into Linux but I'll admit that windows and Microsoft ain't great. However the amount of complaining about how shit Microsoft is on stead of being enthusiastic about Linux baffles me. And you see these things in other communities too. The reddit helldivers community seems to be a bunch of memes and the lemmy oke a bunch of complaints.

Then again my comments seem to actually reach people on Lemmy so I am more active here.

I had the same problem with the 2018 tomb raider. Lara Crofts dad spends years surviving in a cave on an island and has perfect fucking teeth.

The Dutch police have their ups and downs but nothing heinous like in the post has happened so far. The Dutch law also states that the police is not allowed to use more violence than absolutely necessary. Which is obviously difficult but seems reasonably well followed.

That doesn't mean protests are not broken up, but there has to be a reason why. Recent pro Palestine protests at Universities are broken up because, well, they were making it (partially) impossible to to attend said universities. Same with extinction rebellion protesting on a busy highway.

The Dutch police definitely has their problems with racial profiling and stuff though.

Then I had it with Mario Kart, close my eyes and see the track move.

And the weirdest thing is when I finally got properly used to vr and played 3 hours of half-life: Alyx straight. I had to physically touch a wall to convince a part of my mind that this was real life, and not vr.

I'm also Dutch and honestly I think part of it is the amount of subtitled English tv I watched when I was young. I tried the same with German struggled finding things to watch.

If you look at Germany or France they often dub over stuff while we subtitle everything.

I live in the very non flat south East of the Netherlands. We still do everything on bike. Groceries, mail, like 4 children while carrying groceries and being on the phone.

Nowadays it's probably also because of the dominance of American culture, especially online.

A local church is about that old (or it's at least that old, the oldest record of it is from 1262). But there might just be a barn or a windmill that's much older and nobody knows because at that point it's actually medieval and record keeping wasn't great back then.
