If the urban area is too densely populated there may not be enough blooming plants to support a colony. TBH close neighbors wouldn't really be affected, or even notice, unless they are hyper-aware of bees due to an allergy or phobia. Our neighbor kept bees right beside our apartment complex and no one noticed at all
These wall units look really slick, but the hive entrance needs to be accessable from the outside, and the inside of hive itself needs to be accessable from time to time, even if the beekeeper doesn't plan on harvesting honey. I only have a little knowledge of beekeeping, but I do know they don't just run themselves. Keeping a hive healthy requires regular attention and work. Kind of like houseplants, actually
I think we've been reading this wrong. It's not that Boeing is killing of whistle blowers. There's just so many that some are bound to die. This winds up creating confirmation bias that they are trying to silence the whistle blowers. In fact, they can just do what they've always done, ignore the problems and enjoy the profits of regulatory capture
Detective 2: Weeeeelllllll, looks like Mr.Paxton was killed by a bunch of pigs
Detective 1: What!? But Ken Paxton was a huge law and order politician! He fully supported law enforcement! Why, the only union to support him was the police union. Why in the world would any cop, let alone several, want to kill him?
TBH, smaller communities with more engagement is better IMO. If you don't get in early there's no chance to do more than passively comment and get no reply. If I'm going to engage in conversation I'd like at least a little back and forth. Where the lack of volume really is felt is in niche subjects
Dunno where I'm going with this, but your point is valid. I just kinda like the small web feel. Reminds me of early Internet days
Yeah, I lost something. I lost peace and quiet. What do you need?! What do you want?! Can I not just live here, without having to occasionally deal with you animals!?
Are you kidding? I didn't handle things maturely at 23! But hey! thanks for getting me to think about aaaaaallllllllllllllllll of my embarrassing childhood memories. Funny how there's so few good memories, but loads of embarrassing ones
This weekend a whole lot of sunlight had the opportunity of beating me about the face, neck, and arms. I'm not embarrassed, really, but I am a bit red in the face about it
I think we can all agree that intentionally killing or maiming someone is a step too far. A little light stabbing in response to malicious cuntery is perfectly acceptable
It's crazy how many people in this thread either didn't understand how endearing these pet names are or think a nickname for a family member = uneducated or some such nonsense.
My nephew called me ពូSam (pou, uncle) and I loved it. My BiL is Cambodian, I'm not. ពូ means nothing to me but when my little buddy said it it meant everything. He got a little older and one day I went to their house and he just called me "Sam" and a little bit of me broke, NGL.
I was driving an old work van on the highway, doing the speed limit of 65 mph (105 kph). As i crested the hill traffic was stopped a few hundred yards ahead. I had plenty of room to brake and come to a stop, a bit abrupt for the weight of the vehicle but no big deal. I applied the brakes and the pedal went right to the floor. The brake lines had blown out from corrosion. I was in the right lane and there was an exit ramp to my right. The stopped traffic was fast approaching. I dropped the automatic transmission into low gear (it was an older Chevy, so it had R N D 4 3 2 on the column) and swerved right, with what felt like a fraction of an inch to spare from the car in front of me. I swear I could see the sour expression of a woman who very nearly has her day ruined go by in slow motion, like that Umbrella Academy meme. The off ramp gave me time to pump the brakes and let the engine slow the vehicle down. I was fully prepared to throw it into park if necessary, but by the time I got to the intersection enough brake pressure had been regained to stop. Pulled off the road and had that POS towed to a garage.
There was the time I high-sided my motorcycle, but OP asked for almost, not actual.
Same. I have had particularly poor results on image searches from duckduckgo. It's on par or superior to Google for general web searches, but man, Google image search is still better
Makes sense. Thank you. I'm aware of what is sometimes a vast gulf between what is right and what is legal. I'm glad to see the principle of battery and the law are aligned in this case
