  • A week delay makes meaningful participation impossible. As I'm on .world, my best guess is that a solution is best initiated by your instance's moderators. If you've not already then you should find the means to report.

  • I went back out with my flashlight and saw the same hundreds of eyes. Fucking gators.

Sober, at night, in the desert: Hundreds of eyes, like stars in the sky. Fucking spiders.

Mushrooms can give you a pretty bad trip as well,

    I agree.

at least it doesn't last as long as acid.

Also, one can also mitigate the effects with induced vomiting, alcohol, or sleep. A batch of shrooms never has byproducts or laced drugs. If they're particularly strong then grind them up, weigh doses, and encapsulate.

I took my last dose of LSD more than twenty years ago. Everyone shouldn't choose as I do because they're not me. My only intent is people make wiser choices.

My advice for either one is make sure you have people around that you love and trust - being alone or being with strangers can be bad news.

Far more important than squabbles over which one is better to start with. I was an adolescent that took what was in front of me while back of car camping with friends, a few acting as babysitters.

  • If you had relatively clean LSD and mushrooms, both of which you'd sampled, which would you recommend the hypothetical beginner I'd addressed?

If it's LSD then something's fucked in your supply or you're a unique personality that doesn't realize they're different from the vast majority of others in some fundamental way.

I can definitely understand how some people would prefer LSD afterwards, with experience. I'd advise that person that long term LSD usage, even microdosing for performance enhancement, will definitely have permanent effects upon their psyche. Maybe good, maybe bad. Future them will decide.

  • We could find a stupid or good reason to discard each and every individual. Humans are deeply flawed. I need not conveniently bash this talented man to feel good about myself. I chose the more difficult and quite unpopular position of forgiveness.

You're seemingly the only person who understood. You're true to your username. I liked how you didn't assign him responsibility for the perceived failure of the justice system. I think it was the critical thing that needed said when saying that he did more than what was mandated. Thank you for speaking up.

Reason wins because propaganda has a much shorter half life.

  • For example, a hypothetical, in low light the LSD has synapses firing so fast that one is very aware of every presence around them. But, everyone is a shadowy monster with glowing eyes. The color of their eye glow indicates their instentaneous level of hostility.

The distortion of perception brings the subconscious to awareness. This is why hallucinogenics can sometimes be therapeutic. But, as the dose increases, so does the effect of the subconscious. Take too much and the perceptions no longer have much basis in reality.

If anyone's reading this and curious, don't take LSD. There's no escape from a bad trip. Try mushrooms instead. I keep a little around for when my head can't reason out what the fuck my heart and ego are choosing.

  • I read the academic paper I found. And, I've had a first conversation about this with another IRL.

I still think length term limits on Justices is like many other good ideas: There's no practical way to implement. All would result in severe collateral damage due to the nature and complexity of the systemic context. But, my reasoning is much more nuanced.

Thank you. I appreciate that you pushed me along.

  • As Lemmy has scaled it's approaching average. The masses have chosen to demonized minority opinions not for profit, but for short term comfort. They'll enshitify socially. It'll be faster than profit max as there's no delay to begin.

  • That's almost a banger line

Thanks. I didn't give it much poetic consideration. It's probably not even my line..For example, I'll turn my presentation off for the rest of this post.

    what do you mean?

All sucks so bad that one doesn't have to be Neo, needs no data science career or Google trends to reason their way to the same root truth of why such is so: True happiness comes from a sense contentment which must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion and elimination of ignorance, selfishness and greed.

I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. And I believe that there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells them it is right.

While the individual can be intelligent and wise - people are stupid, and you know it. From each according to their ability and to each according to their need. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

However, I'm invisible simply because people refuse to see me. When they approach me they see only my surroundings, themselves or figments of their imagination, indeed, everything and anything except me. Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

Have you found those that wish to hear that which nearly no one else does?

  • 1st gen US of a north-south love marriage.

Remember why immigrants come to the US: The same hustle yields greater success due to lessened competition for greater resources. It's worse wherever they came from.

Remember that good and bad family is somewhat universal across cultures. People care for their elderly because they continue to contribute to the family unit in facets such as meals, cleaning, childcare, wisdom. People cohabitate because there's competitive strength in a larger family unit.

Relative the US, India has roughly three times the population and one third the geographic area. They want to care for their good parents and offer the bad ones a humane somethhing, just as everyone does. Capitalism crushes them as it does us. They just have less. They can't afford to house and feed their parents.

  • If the pen is mightier, Indy, then the touchscreen keyboard is our elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Obviously it's not going so well. Be happy we've some blasters and expertise laying around. It's good peace of mind.

  • A year for multiple rapes if a 12 year old is barely a sentence, no matter what justice system you’re in.

I agree. He voluntarily did more, though.

And he’s clearly not even sorry.

When? Before he voluntarily did more, or afterwards?

Rape isn't alcoholism. For some it's maybe like heroin. But, I've not had a drink in more than a decade and know a heroin addict with more time under his belt. People can change.

After he screwed up someone's life then did more than his sentence, he seems OK to everyone he's engaging with now. So, I wonder if I'd forgive him if I met him IRL. It's easier to judge him without nuance hypothetically, when there's no consequences for doing so. If I met him I'd hopefully be strong enough give him a chance.

  • Star Wars. They were part of the rebel alliance and traitors to the empire. But, the cops couldn't hit anything until one of them broke out a shotgun loaded with heat-seeking shot and fired it point blank. Don't judge too harshly. They can't see a thing in those helmets.
