  • Now that you've chosen to say it I understand.

I agree that the internet was much more useful in the early days. Much of that content of merit is likely still there. But, it's much, much harder to find. One basically needs to specifically know what resources exists before searching for it.

  • If his first presidency during COVID wasn't enough motivation to move to the boonies, a subsequent one without COVID won't be.

But, I sincerely hope to see you out here with us who've effected the idea. There's lots of space and, based on why you'd leave, we'd love to have you.

Don't worry about the red hats. Most of them are fucking awesome to the people right in front of them. It's the scaled anonymous crowd they can't process.

  • I'm a wilderness hiker, climber, skydiver, and ride a motorcycle. I'd not ask another skydiver how to protect myself when climbing. They could guess. But, they'd know so little that their advice could easily be dangerous.

OP, ignore everyone who's not riding horses. Seek specialized guidance rather than general.

  • Do you understand how insane it is to have the aggregate of all human knowledge — the only comparable thing once being a physical library

I'm learning to build a house. The internet is useless. The pile of 1980s books in my FIL's basement is teaching me the vast majority. The internet could be a wonderful thing. But, it's primarily profit optimized bullshit. The only exception I've found is video-based basic computer science instruction.

  • .world is neoliberal lumpen who violently reject anything that threatens their politician's current narrative. They're not thinking for themselves. They can't discern left from right, thus reject both with equal hostility.

  • Politics and News on .world. They seem to think that everyone that doesn't agree wholeheartedly with whatever their politicians say is a fascist. They're unable to discern left from right.

It's also neato how whenever I take issue with FlyingSquid or Roki, both mods, my posts are soon voted to exactly -10. Lazy coders.

  • If by "best practical" you meant "best unmitigated capitalist profit optimization" or "most common", then sure, "malicious manipulation" is the answer. That's what literally everything else is designed for.

  • AOC states that Jill Stein somehow leads the most decentralized political party in the US, does so from a position that holds nearly zero organizational authority, and that their primary electoral goals are anything other than Secretary of State to ensure fair treatment in ballot access. Stein wasn't even the nominee last cycle.

AOC is not ignorant. She's sold her principles to neoliberals.
