In my perception Google Search is far worse than it had been 10 years ago & I never cared about personalized search at all. I used to just sit down in an internet cafe, search some stuff & get great results, now that does not happen anymore, or at least not reliably. Google is better than its competitors at understanding your search intent if you use whole sentences instead of carefully selected keywords, but with a good search strategy even Duck/Bing are more than competitive now.

Of course the diversity of the web kind of dying could have something to do with this as well.

It shows me a very wrongly processed image. It was better when I used Fuji, but even then it was never anywhere close to what an unprocessed bland raw file should like.

Depends on the person. Some couples location track each other with consent, I would be fine with that too.

As for children I think it's alright if it's not used as a leash to question why they aren't home yet studying and such. Helicopter parents can abuse this causing further harm, but for normal parents it shouldn't be too bad, or I don't know.

Yes, I think so. In 5-10 years science will have caught up & parents could possibly be able to make more informed decisions in this regard & until then it's basically up to luck.

Because people are lazy to switch. 10 years ago Chrome was a far better browser than anything else & people have their google account filled with their passwords & bookmarks now. Most don't even know how easy it is to migrate all that to Firefox, or that Firefox is actually good since Quantum.

Also why would you use Chrome on Android? On Android at least you can switch to other stuff, unlike on iOS.

I don't really have a formed opinion on this subject. (Though I have some experience with certain things where holding back in childhood has lead to potentially much bigger addictions)

But I can tell you that my uncle bought smartwatches to his children. The watches are only allowed to call family members & have GPS tracking on them, have no games, no Youtube no distractions. They are exactly what you are describing, a safety feature. (though the kids regularly dualwear them to cover for each other, so .... :D )

It was maybe an unintended consequence a 100 years ago, it's completely intentional now.

I prefer looking at female butts over male butts and I find armor far more pleasing on lithe female figures than on males, even if we completely ignore everything else.

Personally i'm okay with the UI, but the default rendering is often so bad that I have to "fix" every single image. To me it's either Raw therapee or just reboot into Windows ..

I agree as well, but don't get the video player part. It shouldn't need a specific one.

I'm also using ublock on Firefox, I had plenty of notifications over the past two weeks, I have even an Invidious redirect set up, though admittedly ublock is winning RIGHT NOW.

That will take a long time, right now analyzing one person's DNA to a point where an insurance company could profit from it costs way more than the extra profits from denying some potentially short-lived clients.

(or an AI based analyzer is already in the works)

I think it's embarrassing how low that number is. If there are alien civilizations out there, I think humans would be at the bottom of the barrel intelligence wise.

EoS has a graphical welcome app with a pacdifmeld menu item, so click on that and get reading. However if you are a beginner and have not modified system files manually, overwriting the old file is usually a safe option.
