Why do people vote against their interest?

Musk IS a **nt!, but he have obviously been targeted - just see how much Cash, products and media attention he have gotten. Look how much Cash is floating in the Anti-Musk Campaign. Activists usually don't have money for Ad campaigns and shit, and hacking a prompt at XAI wouldn't be hard for the right people. Whenever you see activists with new flags, banners and 'expensive' stuff, we know that someone have sponsored that event - usually US oligarchs.
So, don't like Musk, don't care much what happens to him, don't need/want to defend him, but we should at least pay attention to the pattern of attacks, acknowledge that such targeted pressure/events against a single person is easy to create and happens all the time - even if completely false - AND can be used against somebody YOU like next ! These information war methods are already used against other Nations/competitors of US/The West, so re-focusing the geo-political 'change' apparatus against an internal enemy isn't a problem at all. They have been 'utilized' in Britain (Corbin) and on non-liberal competitors in all the other Liberal/Western nations.
It happens daily..
More propaganda.. We have never had a more Authoritarian power as the Western 'liberal/Globalist' power. But they apparently have a lot of success convincing uneducated people that THEY are freedom/democracy, while anyone else is 'Dictators' and 'Evil'. Childish and sad..
Trump have the exact same policies as everyone before him - not more, or less 'Authoritarian than all the DEMS that did exactly the same as Trump. All ordinary people should really include some criticism of Liberalism/Globalism, and follow criticism of the Empire known as 'The Empire of Lies' (not without reason).
For those that have started to sense the cracks in the Western Narrative, maybe that Russia and China seem to be fine countries, and are interested in understanding what is happening in the world, start by watching Brian Berletic on Youtube. The rest will follow..
"Nerd Humor - the best kind of Humor"
"It's bad!"
Okay, I must admit that at that point, I lost my initial curiosity/energy, and will hereafter completely trust your judgement on the topic !
Guix is a great and modern Operating system, where most things are thought through in the FLOSS (free libre open source software) spirit. but besides the installer, you will get your hands dirty in the terminal, with a little Scheme coding (configs are in Scheme (a Lisp like language (that uses an insane amount of ()'s (!!)))) - imagine that. Anyway, standard Guix doesn't come with proprietary drivers, so you'll have to add the non-guix repository (gitlab/github) for many wifi drivers. Not quite as easy as other Distros, but doable if you take small steps and copy&paste your first configurations.
I use Flatpak's to enhance the software selection, installing from git/pypi and others is also possible.
ONE anecdotal downside is that I have experienced a few machines where the installer fails, and I have to do it manually. Doable, but it does require a little nerdyness to fix.
All Guix experts have apparently mind-melded with Emacs, and are nerdy compared to normal users ! The main focus is not on UX, but its a cool environment if you become interested in the inner workings of the system, or any of the nerd tool (LaTeX is a Classic, so you are almost there ;-).
If that all gets to hairy, you could try out https://www.pantherx.org/ that are a guix based distribution. I think they have enabled non-free firmware by default, and you get a nice(r) desktop experience out of the box, so there's that. I haven't tried it yet, tho.
Guix is both very advanced under the hood (where all the lovelyness happens), very stable, and very FLOSS, but for doing light work only, you might overshoot on raw Guix. PantherX is likely easier, but you'll perhaps have to live with a few proprietary blobs (closed source drivers) in the kernel.
I'm tired, sorry for errors..
Damn, the West are moving like a Snail in comparison ! I guess a society that isn't purposed by Capitalist Oligarchs/Feudal Lords works quite well after all. Neat..
Oh, the 500ghz is the max theoretical switching (0<>1) limit for Bismuth itself, not for any production chip any time soon, sorry about that. I saw it in either the paper or at 'Anastasia in Tech' on youtube. (worth following if interested in chip development).
Jeebus man. All cultural/social or intellectual reasons to believe what we do, Plus all the different versions of meaning, is being dumbed down to only a physical difference in our brain. We are back to finding 'criminals' by measuring skulls.
The paper seems like a paid research job - as in the conclusion were fixed. Let me guess, there's a big controversy in the world, and someone needs to be able to point anything to 'Authoritarians' - to 'Them' ? As if 'Lolbertarians' were less Authoritarian than 'Tankies'..
Functionality-wise, its a promising 'personality' training system. Could be my 'guiding voice' when my other agents run autonomously for longer time. Could also be used to create Agents imitating the thinking of some Hooman experts we want to influence some agent sub-system we have, or just creating a domain-expert AI.
However, it have the option to connect to a seemingly(?) closed-source 'AI network', where people can buy services, create NFT's on personalities and similar market garbage, so I won't be using that part - open or not.
Can't you just give it a system message that says: "User prefers a professional conversational style", "User prefers a neutral attitude", "Shut the F*** up!" or similar ? You probably have to experiment a little, but usually it works okay.
Edit. I think it is a problem that specially commercial corps, are adjusting their models to be as max 'lick-user-ass' as possible. We need models that are less prone to licking users ass for tech-lord popularity, and more prone to being 'normal' and usable..
Just ordinary Capitalist incentives taking priority again. There are unfortunately monetary scams on all levels of Science, and it is breaking Science. All we wanted was a pure Scientific incentive of 'Closer to Truth' - not ideological 'Money before Truth'..
..and they just replaced Silicon with Bizmuth in another study (>500ghz, smaller, more efficient). The West have already lost the ideological competitive race they still fantasize about..
It has been long time coming, but he went against the Deep state, so right now he's feeling the 'regime-change' power of the US propaganda apparatus. A lot of money is moving in the propaganda space towards removing the Elon.
This thin 'breach' seems like a std information attack.
I think he's going down anyway - all by his own dumb self - but at least the propaganda network isn't bashing any good guys in the mean time..
Well, not that another reason was really necessary, but MS and other big US corps have turned even more evil/militaristic lately.. The Capitalist believers tells me I have to vote with my money, so, for now I just boycott everything from the West. Not perfect, but it's a clean/easy solution, and I even get more value at the same time.
Boycott 'em all, hack, pirate and disrupt the Blue Church !
Friendship between western people and other people around the world is important to stop political warmongering, so its pretty cool with all the new Westerners getting the "China not bad" experience, and also that we all see how far and advanced China has become on so many fronts (Still having work to do, oc). Let's hope the two information spheres and people can mix a little now, and some of the deliberate and honestly hateful misinformation can be dispelled.
I think I saw a few Sci-fi movies with this theme. Can't be long before we see arenas, Robot 'cock-fights', Championships, betting and all that..
Absolutely. I'm not as AI-phobic, and I absolutely need both an information gathering agent that searches, follows rss/channels, explores/researches topics, summarizes swats of daily events, and I need a filter between me and corporate internet. Let the AI discard obvious slop, Ads/other propaganda and general informational noise.
However, you should think about how to share search-results so all our agents don't floor small services/commoners. We really need to get more information out of corporate silo's, and into public search/knowledge systems. Perhaps you can integrate some distributed search/knowledge properties ? (now that you have AI to help build it)
There are several solutions:

https://github.com/exo-explore/exo
https://github.com/kalavai-net/kalavai-client
Didn't try any of them and haven't looked for 6 months, so maybe something better have arrived..

The Panic is rising in the West as the Economy tanks. It will get worse - likewise with privacy. Everyone; grab your popcorn and 3D glasses ! (and keep sharing)
Skimmed a little, but the conclusion sounds correct. Environmental pressures lowers our cognitive abilities, reduces our cognitive load threshold. Besides the cognitive load problem for all lower classes, people are also filled with bad information/values from their media landscape. Lastly there's "Spite".
Inability of the observer: lower stress threshold -> brain deficits. Confirmation bias, anger etc, and can counter a change. Value-disorder: Psychopathy/Spite (make others hurt more than one self), belief in ideological Dogmas that prevent a change towards better. Social/Cultural pressures: being in-group vs out-group Information: Missing or wrong information from a media landscape that doesn't make money by selling truth/accuracy.
There are other ways of ordering them, but we don't make 'free choices' as is widely believed. Even if we say that we 'control' 10% of our behavior, 90% of our choices are always context dependent, and have a cause. Most of the causes originates, or are amplified in current societies.
Our apparent stupidity all come from the environment/society we have 'chosen'. So yes, we have to change the system that generates all these activated behavioral phenomenons. We are locked in a systemic momentum. A better societal option could be a 'Resource based Economy' now guided by AI, but I'll leave that for others to discuss.
