I'm amazed at comments thinking this is unremarkable. Just look at the picture of the state he's in. Very admirable that he was able to do this, I would not be surprised if he passes by not long after this.

Of course they didn't. They wrote all this assuming that wealthy white landowning men would continue to be the only ones who could vote. Populism was not something on their radar.

This combined with the other guy's "get a proper night's rest" is a tough one. I always try to read for a half hour, but end up getting absorbed and reading for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I think I need to start reading drier books.

I hate greedy corporations as much as the next guy, but manufacturers are not going to up their QC to include single dead pixels and take a hit to their profit margin. They'd increase prices, by a lot.

Maybe there's a market for displays that meet this standard for the nitpickers, and sell the ones that fail at a discount, but they'd definitely be a premium.

Correct about Sunday, but a two-day weekend didn't become a thing until organized labour fought for it in the 20s, and wasn't codified into law until 1940.

It's funny how everyone pretends to give a fuck about environmentalism until they're faced with the most minor of minor inconveniences.

It's literally not noticable if you're looking at it from a reasonable distance. I'm not talking about a cluster.

Expecting every display to not have dead pixel or 2 is incredibly wasteful. So many perfectly good monitors and TVs would end up as scrap if the manufacturer had to pull every single one. Mountains of ewaste.

This expectation of excessive perfection and uniformity is really damaging.

That game is awesome. I still boot it up every couple years.

I don't even need great graphics, just use modern CPU power to ramp up the simulation complexity and that's an easy buy from me. Probably won't happen though, it was pretty niche even for it's time. It wasn't really even a game, just a piece of software that was fun to mess around with.

ChatRoulette is still around, which is nuts. That place was a cesspit 10 years ago, can't imagine now.

My OG Deck was also stuck at "packaged" for a few days, I wouldn't worry about it. They probably have tons of these things to ship and are a bit backed up.
