  • Ya, probably not. But it's a shame to see so many people enjoy this game and now not be able to enjoy it. And I haven't even played it, I've just been thinking about it and seeing these posts on Lemmy.

  • No, but I could see the misunderstanding. When I said "here", I meant on Lemmy. I was just commenting on the people from Israel I've met so far on Lemmy. And how I also would love to see some more varied opinions from Israelis here on Lemmy, because the few I've run into were pretty pro-genocide.

  • I've seen a couple and they were mostly Zionists defending the genocide. So far, they haven't reflected well on their state, but if there's anyone who actually doesn't like the atrocities committed by Israel in Israel, I'd be curious to see if they exist here. The only one I've seen in articles is that one who sent to jail instead of participate in the IDF.

  • I try sometimes but as you can tell by my history, I often fail. I need people to populate the other communities more, though, so I can avoid politics lol. Find other communities and comment or post, try different sorts, like scaled or new, instead of just Top or Active.

  • This guy's videos are usually pretty good. They got a quick pace, good editing, and explain things really well. They are a socialist so they have a bias in that way, but they'd be the first to admit it and to say that every creator has a bias of some sort or another.

  • He's had lots of time to reign him in and he hasn't at all. They've just given them more money, weapons, and support. Until there's been actual actions and not just words, on this particular issue, they are the only exact same.

Until then, the threat of a Trump Presidency hopefully impresses upon Biden the need to do something, anything, other than what he's been doing (a wag of his finger every now and then and that's it).

I don't want Trump back. You don't want Trump back. It's better to spend your energy trying to push Biden on this issue as soon as possible.

  • No, this definitely seems different and new from all the recent articles about it I've seen. This vote passed Wednesday, not in December. It's a response to the protests at universities. And it's a bill, so it can be passed into law. I think you're confusing two different things.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-passes-bill-to-expand-definition-of-antisemitism-amid-growing-campus-protests-over-gaza-war/ar-AA1nZV5S

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/70-house-democrats-and-21-republicans-voted-against-a-bill-to-crack-down-on-antisemitism-on-college-campuses/ar-AA1o02Rn

This expands the definition of antisemitism to bring critical of Israel at all or comparing Zionism to Nazism, and would codify it into law if it, passes the Senate and is signed by the President. So there is still time to stop this, and it's a big deal, so people should be angry about it.

  • I'm definitely not voting for Trump. I live in a blue state where my vote doesn't matter anyway. I'm just saying, you guys aren't helping as much as you think you are. Look at it from their point of view. They're not thinking rationally, and honestly, I don't expect them to. It's an emotionally charged situation when people you know or people like you are being genocided. The effort would be better spent trying to force Biden to change tactics on supporting Israel before election day.

  • +1

Hopefully we can learn from past movements like Occupy, which were unfocused, and apply the lessons learned to future protests, like this Gaza one. It kind of scared me when they said larger struggle, because it brought me immediately back to Occupy, like you said.

  • That's the one thing, I really want more niche communities. Not sure if we just need more people or community discovery needs to be easier. I'd like to see more with the league of legends community and Meet Your Maker community, and I'm sure other people have niche video games or other small hobby communities they'd like to see take off more.

  • Or one of them collected a fund and went out and bought a bunch of the cheapest ones they could find? The pro-Palestine lobby doesn't exist and have billions of dollars behind it like the pro-Israel one. Your conspiracy is barking up the wrong tree. Even homeless people in LA can afford tents, let alone students joining an expensive university.
