  • Why does he avoid calling them out? IDK, I can't speak for him or put words in his mouth and I'm not going too either. The cynic in me says he knows he is a high profile political figure that he has gotten on the bad side of dems and republicans and saw him a strong political contender. So strong that if you had ambitions of higher offices he could easily get in your way. But if a convenient opportunity arrived to oust him from office, and get him out of the way so be it, all the better.

  • I guess people do only what their lawyers tell them to say and not actually go through personal growth; learn that their actions may have negatively affected someone, learn from that experience and grow as a person to become better from what they were before.

  • Don't worry, I found it.

    From Wikipedia:

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer sent Tweeden's accusations to the Senate Ethics Committee for review, a decision supported by members of both parties, including Franken."

"Although Franken had asked to be allowed to appear before the Senate Ethics Committee to give his side of the story, on December 6 Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told him he had to announce his resignation by five o’clock or he could be censured and stripped of committee assignments."

Got to love due process and justice for all.

  • You know, after what happened to Al Franken, let the man have his day in court. Justice in the United States is supposed to operate on the idea of innocent until proven guilty. I'm not going to judge a man on reported facts, but will make a judgment on him based on court evidence.

  • I loved Anansi Boys definitely recommend reading it. Anansi Boys is very different from American Gods but does exist in the same world. I've read everything by Neil Gaiman because I just love how that man writes. I think the Beowolf short story is either in a collection of his short stories, but I also think it's added to new additions of American Gods or at least I think the special edition of America Gods has it, but I might be misremembering.

Have you given The Sandman on Netflix a try? I really enjoyed the job they did on it, and having read the comics I kind of wouldn't have minded if the added more of the short side stories because I feel they inform the larger main story.

  • I had such high hopes for this one. If it was up to me the whole events of the book would have been concluded in two seasons. If they wanted to continue to milk it after that they could have made the Beowulf short story or made Anansi Boys as a follow up series. Such a waste to see America Gods squandered.

  • My approach is gray rocking. I posted something on Mastodon and got reply from someone I knew was looking to argue with me by what he wrote. I just shut it by just replying, "yeah, sure, whatever you say." Super dismissive, but letting it go in case he replies to that I can just keep replying, whatever you say.

  • I've been saying this but I'm surprised no one at Airbnb thought of this, but just start doing long-term rentals. Become a rental management company. Easier said than done, but they have the cash on hand to make it happen.

  • I've been there, I once replaced the alternator on my dad's truck took like five minutes. Well, I was driving a 2002 ford focus and needed to replace the alternator on that. I did one before, should be easy right? That SOB fought me for 6 hours. They put that damn thing in such an inconvenient spot, to where I had to loosen up the engine mounts move the whole engine enough to squeeze it out. Still loved that little car even if it was a pain in the ass.
