  • don’t give a shit about sports

My first hint was the eleven paragraphs

I’m really sorry that so much of your life is opposition to your very existence. But it seems to have made you, and many others, incapable of seeing non existentially-threatening roadblocks as anything less.

  • As someone who’s played their fair share of assorted DnD systems, 5E has a number of issues that really hold it back. For instance, you’re not really supposed to long rest between every fight, but how do you tell players that without a proper DM? It’s a very weak mechanic that’s apparently too iconic to have just axed.

Don’t get me wrong, 5E works better at what it’s supposed to - easily accessible and relatively low math tabletop roleplay. But a computer can do so much more.

TLDR: the last time someone that didn’t understand economics paid off the national debt, it didn’t end well.

If there is a finite amount of money you can print before suffering the effects of inflation, deficit spending allows you to increase the amount of money in circulation without just printing more. If I owe you 100 trillion dollars, you owe Japan 100 trillion dollars, and Japan owes me 100 trillion dollars, this is good for the economy. Yes, it probably sounds like voodoo magic. No, I’m not qualified to help with that.

Now, there is still an upper limit on how much debt is okay, generally tied to interest rates. We’re beginning to scratch that upper limit thanks to deficit spending during covid, but it’s by no means problematic and things would overall probably have been worse without the extra spending.

  • …right, it’s totally because only men are toxic, no man has ever been mocked for “losing to a girl” due to that same societal toxicity before nor are women’s sports surprisingly rife with hair pulling/scratching/etc

Pretty sure it’s almost entirely the difference in physique that otherwise trivializes women as competitors on any serious level?

  • Gendered sports dying means sports for biological women dying and sports for biological men being basically unaffected.

Something tells me competitive sports aren’t just going to die out because some of us struggle to accept testosterone is a steroid and gives an unfair advantage versus women.

  • the Malvinas were colonized for resources

What resources do the Falklands have exactly? Fucking fish?

It was a convenient and well situated naval base historically, and now is perfectly able to declare independence if the population so wishes -the falklands just, shockingly, overall benefit from being a part of a larger and richer national entity.

Essequibo was disputed in colonial times, with the dispute being settled by an international tribunal. First it was about gold, now it’s about oil.
