This doesn't really have anything to do with open source software. It's more of a privacy topic. You can harvest as much data as you want and still be GPL.

This depends on how the decompressor is implemented. It's certainly possible to do it all in memory.

You can control who sees it by how and where you post it. If you don't want people to see it, just don't put it on the Internet at all. Even sites with fine-grained privacy controls can have flaws that result in information leaks.

It had a bunch of features that weren't in ext3, which was generally standard at the time, depending on how conservative your distro was.

Try the tunnels in Boston some time. They have highway exits in the tunnels. And my favorite part is after that there's a fork with not much distance to figure out which one sends you the right direction on the interstate. Also the only signage is painted on the road, which has cars on it.

My last few phones have been Pixels and the only issue was my Pixel 6 having a greenish screen, but I was able to fix that with an app that altered the color temperature I think.

But a few updates later I hadn't reenabled that app and the green was gone anyway. Google fixed it in a software update.
