  • They don't want to maximize civilian deaths. They just want Palestinians out. If that's by killing them or just making them refugees, they don't really care. And if doing it over a few weeks, instead of just outright killing them all instantly, means less international criticism, they'll do it that way.

  • Looks like meat is back on the menu, boys!

Seriously, though, this is really cool. But maybe some biologist can fill me in, what are the side-effects of this? Would it also reduce the useful stores of cholesterol? Or are we just fixing a mutation that causes heart problems?

  • So they want to unload, put it on truck or rail, and load it again on the other side? I'm no logistics expert, but I feel like that introduces a lot of complexity compared to the time saved. Like, would this cargo have to go through customs? If not, wouldn't it be easy to use this to smuggle stuff into and out of the country?

  • The child, now aged seven, told police he obtained the firearm by mounting a drawer to reach his mom's handbag on top of a dresser, where the handgun was kept.

Dipshit. I'm assuming VA doesn't have any law about securing firearms. This is why we need them. You'd think it would be common sense, but I guess not.

  • Huh. Kind of surprised it supports up to four drives, but if that's what it says, there you go. Shouldn't be any risk of drawing too much current through the wire. At most the board or PSU would shut down.

Also, if you are putting more drives in, see if the BIOS lets you enable staggered spin-up, so that they aren't all peaking at the same time.

  • Railroad companies are a little special. The US government has nationalized the railways before, specifically in both world wars, so the government has been involved in their operation as critical infrastructure for over a century. And they still exert some of that influence in peacetime, in case war were declared.

  • More importantly, nobody is enforcing traffic safety. I was biking along yesterday, and this guy on his phone pulls out in front of me, into the bike lane, completely blocking it and half the car lane, because traffic is already stopped in the car lane.

    Idiots.

  • Seems a strange choice for a theft. I don't know much about art, but I would assume it was the most convenient piece, because it doesn't look like much to me.

It's possible that it was also a commissioned theft, but weird that someone would want it that badly they'd pay to have it stolen.
