  • Every other city gets to use their full city metro area, both they love using St. Louis as a boogeyman because we’re split differently and they can count only the city downtown area for crime

Says who? I checked the FBI crime statistics. and they have rows for the STL MSA for 2016, 2017, and 2018, though not in the latest one from 2019, probably because they didn't report the numbers to the FBI.

  • I recall an exchange, I think it was between Obama and some Republican senator, but for the life of me I haven't been able to find it since I read it. It went something like "I'm not going to vote on this bill without something in exchange." "Okay, I can make sure we get some funding for some project. So, this means I can count on your vote?" "Oh, no, I would never vote for that."

There is no negotiating. You try to meet them half way, and they'll take a step back. Every time.

  • Shitty, but it also looks like that section of wall is just earthwork. Maybe a professional will chime in and say there's something valuable about it, but given that it's already mostly gone from erosion, I'm not sure if anything was actually lost here.

  • This doesn't change anything. They're still violating copyright law if they scrape any data.

For search results, nobody really cared, because it was useful to everyone. Now they're reprocessing it into output and competing with the original sites. That's a big no-no.
