  • More importantly, people in power encouraging them. It's used to be that this behavior was considered unacceptable, at least outside of private places like Klan meetings. But now it's "we love you, you're all very special".

  • Does a "warning, cert issued by a government agency" count as additional validation?

    Or maybe everyone is going to use cert pinning now. Or Firefox is going to stop trusting all CAs and make you verify each CA yourself. Which is a terrible idea for the average user.

  • And that's why you don't eat or drink huge amounts of any one thing. Sounds like smaller amounts, even daily, would be perfectly tolerable by most people.

    There's a guy who drank up to 4L of Earl Grey tea every day until he developed muscle and eye problems. Or the guy who ate a bag of black licorice every day until he had a heart attack and died.

  • Nah, "if it bleeds, it leads" has been the rule throughout the history of for-profit journalism. Now the conflict is controversial, so that's the angle they take. Some people on one side, some on the other, so the news hypes up the conflict to get views from everyone.

  • If cutting in takes, say, three hours, and he's going to be in there for eight, and he has a brain aneurysm at hour four, he'll be dead before they can get to him if they wait.

    There may not be an ambulance right outside your house, but at least they can get there in a few minutes.
