  • Do they? I wouldn't know, the only racists I've ever met were conservatives. Dems at least try to pass laws beneficial to everyone and not just rich white folks. But Liberals? No clue, I don't pay much attention to them.

  • Sorry, I wasn't looking at it in terms of just the senseless loss of lives, but also how much damage was being done at home. Yeah there's a lot of hard lines there to cross but Trump has made a policy of tearing the nation apart instead of trying to bring people together, and that weighs a lot to me.

  • I'm still on the fence about W. just because he didn't really do anything on his own, he just took the excuse to continue his daddy's war. I think if Sr. had gotten another term in office he would have ramped things up, but either way I think the family as a whole pushes up there on the list.

For the rest of the list... yeah it's not hard to find a lot of presidents who have killed a lot of people. However the original question was about the worst president overall, which to me includes the damages done here at home. Trump is high on my list simply because of how far back he has set us in terms of equal rights, moving beyond the pettiness of racism, dealing with important things like the unfolding climate disaster, and his nonchalant attitude that Palestine and Ukraine need to just surrender because being in the news cycle is inconvenient to him. Looking at Trump's agenda of just how much he wants to destroy things here, I find it concerning that the only thing stopping him is a few Republicans that still have a moral compass.

  • What's wrong, snowflake, are you triggered by this conversation? Don't worry, if his cabinet succeeds in their plans to eliminate vaccines and shut down life-saving agencies such as NWS, you'll get to see genocide at home. And even though he hasn't eliminated the department of education yet, there's a chance you may already be one of the victims of the conservative agenda.

  • I suspect what we'll see if Trump continues his belligerent ways is that China just says screw it, cuts us off completely, and leaves the whole nation hanging. There will be the crowd who are fine with it because they somehow imagine China is hurting even worse, but eventually the reports will filter in from other countries about how China is doing just peachy, taking away even that imagined victory from MAGA.

  • I saw another post earlier this week where Walmart's policy was being discussed on Twitter. People were absolutely insistent that Walmart's price increases wouldn't affect the things they buy because they (cough) only buy American made products. These folks actually think all of their food is locally grown, or that all of their gasoline is produced in the US. (Yes, a large portion is, but never all of it.)

And of course there's still the continuing discussions about how tariffs will somehow force more products to get made in the US. Yeah that's not happening either, companies are just moving manufacturing to other countries that will be less affected by the tariffs. I haven't seen a single corporation yet publicly announce that "hey you know what, we'll just give up our profit margins and pay a ton of money for entitled Americans to pick their noses instead of building your cheap 500-inch TV." But gee, you know who would have built those products cheaply and locally? All those immigrants y'all are so desperate to kick out of the country. Why it's almost as if MAGA can't find enough ways to screw themselves.

  • I'm having a hard time understanding this article. They say the Teslas have the highest rating of deadly accidents, but then go on to say Tesla ranked #6 on the list of fatalities, then once again stated Tesla was the worst. So what happened to the other five vehicles that had a higher fatality rating?

  • For future reference, how are you posting that link? Is it exactly like I see here with the exclamation, or was it done as a c/community_name, or...?

And thanks for posting these comics. It's been a real treat seeing where the characters started out.

  • From what I understand, most of the jobs are in the big cities where nobody but top management can afford to live, and everyone else has to drive or bus for hours to get to work. How does anyone think that's sustainable at $16/hour? And why do low-wage workers even stay there?

  • I haven't watched the video, but when I was younger I started developing an intolerance. I always eat a bowl of cereal in the morning, and at that time, about an hour later while I was driving in to work I started getting gut-wrenching cramps every day. Stopped eating the cereal and it immediately went away. That was all fine & dandy, but after several years of not eating breakfast at all I decided to hell with it and started working on it again on the weekends. However I'm guessing something else must have also changed because it didn't really take that long to get back to eating it regularly again, and I haven't stopped since.

  • Funny, when I think of Windows, reliability and stability are the last things on my mind. I mean, if they could build a reliable release then why isn't that shipped with all computers? You know, like with linux, the stable version is also the current release. Basically your description makes it sound like what's really making Windows so unreliable is all the crapware that Microsoft forces down your throat.

  • Didn't everyone know that Trump's plans for massive tariffs will make the economy even worse, and most local prices go even higher? Or are we going back to Trump waving his magical minuscule tax break to make everyone forget about why the prices went up in the first place?

  • Hard to say for sure. He's on Facebook so I don't have a way to see what he posts, but my wife still has an account there and said he's in some of the same groups as her. She's pretty aware of what he's posting and they've actually had conversations in person about the whole immigration thing. The rest... yeah I just don't know.

  • This started on Wednesday, almost immediately after Trump's victory was announced. By Friday it was already being reported in grade schools because asshole parents enjoy raising asshole sons, and Trump tells people that it's ok to be the absolute worst human being they can be.

I have a friend who is a hard Republican. We generally don't talk politics, but after this started last week he was posting things online being offensive towards women and POC (and the whole "illegals took my job and healthcare") so I finally had to call him out. His response was basically that he wasn't aware of any increased discrimination happening against women, therefore he didn't believe it was happening. I've known the guy for 40 years but this may be the thing that breaks our friendship. He claims to be an advocate for people's rights yet he is painfully unaware of the world around him.
