Not OP, buuut ...

If the cylinder is out, or the slide / bolt is back, with no magazine, and a view of the chamber that clearly shows that it's not loaded then you're ok to treat it like a normal object - otherwise you could never clean or inspect a gun properly

Stickers make everything better - put a sticker on something and both you and the thing will be upgraded :-)

I have a big biscuit tin of stickers. For emergencies.

Yeah, that's the thing, the majority if guys are OK or better ... it's just there's enough arseholes to hold women and minorities back when there's no or unenforced DEI

It's very hard to not be polite when that's how you're raised to be from day one :-/
