  • But realistically even if pump and dump schemes like this make the customers hate them, it might still make more as a total sum - and if so as a cooperation they'd almost have to take the shitty route (or be surpassed by someone who will).

    Yay capitalism

  • I mean 'surprisingly' many rich western countries are also multilingual and so will still happily train data on poorer ones.

Really the only thing keeping a language safe is lack of popularity - which by definition affects the least amount of people.

  • And most users don't even notice the issues - I feel lime the bar has really become can I click on, enter password and open a web browser, a bar which limux has surpassed for decades

Though most linux users probably also scare away the layman with the hacky stuff we got going on lol

  • More like to them its either 'does work' or 'doesnt work'. If they ever had a running system they'd most likely never change anything and end up breaking the gpu driver.

For the most part I'd say installers succeed automatically installing drivers too (or are preinstalled in the laptop case)

  • Honestly I think the important distinction is it doesnt even matter in the slightest. They profited off it, and therefore are partly responsible. (and realistically they're a trillion dollar company, if they cared they would know what practices were taking place)

I do agree every company would be on that list, but I believe in a much less dismissive perspective than you

  • Until it becomes 'us and our 1 partner that proxies it to another 1000' and no laws ever think about regulating it because 'its a great business decision!'

(not corruption no why wouk you ever think that you commie)
