  • Would you prefer a fight like Ukraine's (even if you win), or would you rather make sure the fight never happens?

    It's clear Putin doesn't care about Russians dying. They've always just thrown blood at their targets.

  • Did they not know that Quran burning was propaganda? It happened, but it happened specifically to split Sweden from Turkey. I think it was discovered the person was working for Russia.

  • HA is still more of a lifestyle choice than just software.

    Someday I'll get around to putting those bulbs back on the Homekit controller instead of trying to run them through OTBR.

    The exhaust fan turning on when the litterbox detects a cat is pretty cool though.

  • They need more than 49.5 votes with some of them coming from Georgia and West Virginia in order to do much.

    It's easier to stop things in government than to pass them. Why do the Republicans get so much credit for just stopping things, but the Dems get none?

    I still think it was more of a business decision than anything else.

  • Yeah, and that relates to why I think the focus on ranked choice voting or more parties is a red herring.

    I'm cool with both of those, but they're not a silver bullet for our problems. We already have parties within parties, which isn't terribly different than coalitions. And we have at least two rounds of voting to narrow the field.

    No matter what you do, democracy is going to be about compromise. It makes sense that you have to compromise more and more as the field narrows. Voting for Bernie in the primary and Hillary in the general isn't that different from voting ranked choice Bernie #1, Hillary #2.
