  • I remember this. The petition was more about security assurance than a specific accusation, and the letter from Spoonamore was sus because he is a known attention-seeking alarmist (and sole-proprietor of a cybersecurity consulting company that he pumps a lot).

Spoonamore cried wolf too many times to be taken very seriously, but also his “analysis” is weirdly unspecific just like his deflection in interviews. It honestly felt like those “security alert!” popups from fake antivirus software, if that makes sense, like the point isn’t security just the alert.

Ultimately the gold standard for verification is random sample hand counts, and several rounds of these confirmed software tallies within very small margins. That basically closes the case, because if they “hacked” the hand counts, it would mean the conspiracy went well beyond tampering with voting software.

  • Uh, 5k? Your biggest hitlist demographic is senile old widows, the trifecta of Trump’s favorite target donor groups.

Killing them would not only be evil, it would only serve Trump. The top donors use super PACs and give way more than 5k, but the list of elites backing Trump and toppling democracies globally requires no doxxing, because they own public companies.

Do not kill working class Republican voters.

  • Understood. It’s a shame to lose you at the start of the fight, but get what you need to hang on and recover.

One strategy I’ve found helpful is taking little breaks from political news and spending time with those around you. It’s been a good antidote for the despair of the news cycle.

And if you need someone to talk to I’m here.

  • While I haven’t always lived among Americans, I’ve known many of them from many places, and I think this assessment is inaccurate. The ones you see the most online, especially on social media, are really not a representative sample.

Most Americans aren’t terminally online automatons, and although corporations and their own government have worked together to brainwash them into complacency, the gestalt of their culture and value systems still elevate the spirit of rebellion. I suspect that, by the end, you will see America become one of the noisiest fronts in the global war against these tyrannical elites.

  • Took me long enough. Thought it was like the fancy pooh bear meme or something.

Glasses can’t be that bad though right? This looks more like a scope.

Edit: oh shit, I still didn’t get it

  • Can’t speak for op but it usually adds cheek. Sans’ use was revived a few decades ago. It tends to alter one’s tone to sound slightly stuffier, like putting on a top-hat and monocle. I’ve also seen it used more randomly by younger people who recently learned its meaning.

    Edit: disclaimer and use case

  • They have a simplistic tit-for-tat moral code and ignore the relative degree of contempt telegraphed by different ethnic slurs. Trouble seems to find this sort of person wherever they are. They will not accept your advice. Best to move on.

  • Still get to deal with most of the same shit, but the repressed perma-denial TV-marriage version, through the entirety of their developing years, and then never get the chance to see what an authentic healthy relationship looks like? Sign me up!

  • I’ve been involved for less than half as much time and haven’t been through what the older ones have, but one of them told me something I’ve been thinking about lately.

They said the political and legislative fights are important but the true battles are for hearts and minds. They take longer to win but those victories are final because once people see a world in which we belong they can’t unsee it.

So it’s a fact that hard-won rights now can be taken with the snap of a finger, or simply ignored, but it won’t stand for long because most people won’t accept anything less as just. That is, it’s too late to undo what you fought for. The battles you won are won.

  • Independent. I still voted blue because they promised less genocide and I knew not doing so guaranteed as much of it as possible.

But now that I see how clean your hands are compared to mine, I am ashamed. I mean, yes a lot more people are now dying as a result, but can you really put a price on cleanliness?

  • Option A — do something: If you pull the lever, the trolley will run over people.

Option B — do nothing: If you don’t pull the lever, it will still run them over, just more quickly because some of the passengers consider the victims a threat and anyway the conductor’s itinerary includes running over everyone else on the planet and barreling into the sea before the trolley runs out of steam.

BUT as everyone is run over you can show them your hands, and they will marvel at how clean they are, and you will say “it’s because I had the courage to not touch the lever,” and your unwavering sense of justice will inspire them so they may die happy knowing they once spoke to such a hero…

Obviously option B, doing nothing, is the most ethical solution, since clean hands should be one’s priority.
