  • Neils stuff is incredible! I could never get into Jaws but all his other stuff i love

  • One mans trash is another's treasure.

For every crappy shovelware game at least on person will have fond memories and see it as a classic.

  • Yeah his style ain't for everyone. Normally not a fan of filler unless its done in a way like how it was edited

  • No, you’re forgetting the fact that when I bought it, I didn’t know what I’ll be getting in the future. I lucked out with Factorio, but it could happen that the devs just stopped working on it, I didn’t know at the time.

That's the risk you paid for. My criticism is price increase after full launch. If early access game goes up in price when it fully releases that is a different thing.

Who do you think sets the price, if not the publisher?

The publisher sets the price. They put a game on sale to make more money. I buy the game on sale. I get the game as the reward. The publisher gets money they wouldn't have otherwise.

And yet, it’s not the publishers complaining about it online.

I'm a random person who has no reputation to defend. I could just as easily start over online and nothing would hurt me. The publisher has a reputation to keep. They need to keep making money. Other then that, complaining is the way to for the consumer to get thoughts out about practices. I don't like a game going up in price due to "inflation" and a game never going on sale therefor I will communicate that.

  • This was my first video of his, I loved it. The idea of space in a game is really interesting to me though so that might make me biased

  • Shovelware still deserves to be accessible IMHO. Someone out there has fond memories of some shovelware DS game and wants to give it a shot again.

  • Did people forgot that the internet never forgets?

  • rule

    Jump
  • Pokemon npcs be something else

  • I'm glad someone realizes it. Online presence is something you want to be worthless. If people see worth in that can lead to a set of problems you don't want.

  • You're right, I don't know how ActivityPub works. Perhaps explain to me how this tactic is impossible?

I can only base things off of my knowledge and from what I understand you can remove activitypub support just as (relatively) easily as you add it.

  • It's well worth it, fun puzzle game that'll make your brain hurt a little

  • More like

  • I also wonder if it's in part how much exposure to the internet zoomers have. As well as what kind of internet. I was (for better or worse) terminally online growing but I had a Mac, and never had a smartphone till later. All my experience of the internet was my old Mac and later windows laptop. I also got into emulating and modding consoles by my early teens so that probably changes a lot as well.

  • Working aged zoomer here, it's amazing how much my generation doesn't know about computers in some aspects and how much they know in others. It seems I was born in a sweet spot when things still difficult but not completely dumbed down.

  • Cancer's goal is to spread infinitely since it's a messed up cell that think it's need to clone itself. The killing it's host is just a side effect of that.

  • Embrace, extend, and extinguish is a real tatic used by big tech companies for years though. It is fair to assume this strategy will be in play, as times the FOSS community hasn't things died as a result.

  • My statement was more referring to the idea that defederating based on facts are not a definite rule. Ideally facts are used, but sometimes it won't. Speculation is pretty fair considering prior facts in this scenario.

  • I'd argue defederating can be based on whatever the hell the admins of the instance wants. That's the freedom of the fediverse, instances are free to choose what they do and do not want. And you the user are free to choose the instance that aligns with your wants.

  • I certainly post and read. I'm happy with my instance currently, but should lemmy.one does something I don't agree with I will have no problem switching.
