I sometimes use sync and other times voyager. In voyager and lemmy-ui, it is not a clickable link. In sync it is. I was looking for a way to have a clickable link in lemmy-ui
The 5-6 other instances I tried out did not face this problem. Just to be sure, I cleared the app's cache and user data, force stopped it and then viewed the post using lemmy.one as the base instance and was able to replicate the problem. @ljdawson@lemmy.world
I tried some things out and I have learnt a few things.
Changing the language settings(and including every language) did not solve the issue.
I reinstalled the app and before logging in, viewed this post and was able to load and view all comments.
After logging in, I was not able to view all the comments of this post. By switching to the anonymous lemmy.world feed I am able to see the comments again.
I also tried to view the comments before restoring my settings and after restoring my settings. The outcome in both cases was the same
Edit : I changed the instance that the anonymous feed uses from lemmy.world to lemmy.one and was able to replicate the issue. It seems the issue lies how sync is fetching comments from the lemmy.one instance. I will try out if other instances run into the same issue
Something like the 6600 or 6600xt(or 6650xt) could be the cheap alternative you are looking for as they cost around 200 dollars and give a decent performance bump for you.
A used 5600xt would be a much cheaper but somewhat sideways upgrade as it sells for around 100 dollars(according to Hardware Unboxed's last gpu pricing video) and offers a small performance improvement of 5-10%.
Side note - in my view, the sideways upgrade to AMD from nvidia may not be the smartest use of money. AMD's advantages over nvidia are real but unless you really do need a new GPU(because you are using the 1660 super for another rig or giving it to someone), the advantages are nowhere near large enough to justify buying a new GPU of around the same performance level. Of course this is just my viewpoint and you might see things differently
Well the app is one of the best lemmy apps, perfectly usable for every day use. Maybe certain quality of life impoving features can be added but they are not a requirement and since it is a open source project, hopefully some users who know programming can contribute these features to voyager. Thank you for this great app
I will try changing the language but there does seem to be a subtle difference in our cases. He couldn't see the comments on the official website but I can. I will still try the solution though
For translation you can use this. Since you can use Google translation service as the backend(?), it works as good as Google translate atleast in my experience
Good news about page translation, Firefox is adding it, and it's all done locally too, no phoning home to their or somebody else's translation servers.
Till then there is this open source extension which provides the same functionality including local offline translation
Must have missed this when yuki was defending 7th position from Lando and Lewis in a shit AT before getting fucked on strategy by his own team. At the same time, Lawson was fighting over 15th. Yes it was Lawson's first race and he did as well as expected but saying he was on par with tsunoda is wrong. It took a red flag, a penalty and a horrendous strategy for Lawson to be on par with tsunoda
I thought more the logic behind this move was that people use a lot of web services these days so a lot of software on which is pre installed is redundant and hence a waste of resources.
Damn man. We getting no drama this year. Silly season was not silly and now with no team breaching cost cap. Atleast the racing for every position other than P1 has been good.
Maybe you can try logging in before changing the file. Then quit steam, change the file and restart your steam system and then try to open steam. This was the exact process I followed and it worked.
Edit : the change to the .desktop file is not applied until you reboot your system.
