  • Both the Norris and van 't Hoff accidents can be attributed to poor race direction as much as track characteristics. Yes spa is dangerous (more than other tracks) and if those type of accidents had happened at other tracks, van 't Hoff would not have died (may he rest in peace) but they are making efforts to improve the track to make it safer. In the initial aftermath of van 't Hoff's death, I too was calling for spa to dropped and evaluated, but the more I saw the accident, the more I realise that the race should not have been taking place at all in those conditions. The accident too happened at the start of the kennel straight after the the eau roudge radillion complex.

On a side note, I don't think the Qatar track is inherently dangerous just the kerbs which are problematic and which can be easily fixed. Weather wise, sepang was equally brutal but people love that track.

  • Edit : As for your picture issue, it could be one of two things - either your instance has turned off image uploads or it is a png image which voyager does not support as of yet

  • Do you get adaptive sync options in the display section of the settings (present beside the refresh rate selection option)¿?

If yes there are 3 settings - off, automatic and always. Setting it to automatic means that vrr will be used for full screen applications including XWayland applications(would have been stupid if it did not work with XWayland as almost all games run through XWayland). Off and always are self explanatory I guess

  • Well considering how much time he was spending during the early days of voyager (when it was called wefwef), he was bound to take a step back at some point. Better for people to take time for themselves then get burnt out

  • Lead/Main dev (aeharding) had gone on a fishing trip and then took a step back from voyager development beacuse other aspects of his life demanded his time and attention. Between this and the app not being updated in a while, some people panicked saying that the project had been abondened and moved to other apps in a more active stage of development

  • If I may I ask, why do you prefer GitHub over librepay¿? I am curious because the lemmy devs say they prefer librepay but they don't say why. Both GitHub and librepay use stripe so is there any actual difference between the amount you receive from either¿?

  • @aeharding@lemmy.world, I think you should pin this post. Some people stopped using voyager because they thought or were afraid that development had stopped. Those people are more likely to see this post if it is pinned which will lead to more people using voyager

  • The number of actions to be taken to subscribe in these cases are way more than the one action you need to take in the solution Sharun has proposed so they would slower and more difficult. This method also quickly informs users as to which community they are subscribed to, which considering the number of duplicate communities is also very useful

Also voyager has set a precedent where you can quickly favourite unfavourite a community from the side tab by clicking on a star toggle/indicator so this design is not a completely new concept and is consistent with what voyager uses currently

  • No they aren't the same. I just thought the design would be more consistent as both of them are options living outside the ellipsis menu.

Also I edited my comment above. Care to weigh in on the discussion there¿?

  • Design 3 would be consistent with

    but not with

Also it brings to fore a wider debate. Should that button denote the current status or should it denote the action that will happen on pressing the button.
