  • So let me get this straight. My county banned most of the popular porn sites because of the negative influence it can have on the populace but has such a poorly written and enforced law that people who possess and watch CSAM are deemed to be not breaking the law. What the actual fuck is going on here. This is a dangerous precedent being set here and I can only hope that supreme court overrules the case and holds the guy guilty.

  • I am sorry but I find this comment pretty dumb. For one, it is beneficial for Alonso to fight people on a different strategy because when he has a slower car, it is more beneficial for him to slow down the opposition car to his as compared to waving him by and maximising his own race time. He does let verstappen by easily because he knows that even if he fights him tooth and nail, there is no chance of keeping him behind.

Secondly, yes he made a mistake against sainz by getting overzealous in defending but that is a rare mistake for Alonso. The Russell 'brake check' on the other hand is very contentious. He mostly just rolled of the throttle (didn't brake much) to compromise Russell's corner entry. It is naughty but people have done that for years at this point. What was different in this case was that Russell was busy changing settings on his dash and didn't do anything to respond to Alonso's move which resulted in him crashing. It was erratic driving yes but it dangerous only because Russell was not paying attention. I think it was blown way out of proportion by the stewards.

  • but I would really prefer native if there is the opportunity.

This only makes sense if the native port is better. In the witcher 2, I get better graphics and performance when playing through proton instead of using native. And there are certain games with 'native' ports which don't even run and just crash.

  • Letting the driver off whenever the team breaks a rule would have pretty disastrous consequences. There'd be an incentive to unsafely release, there'd be an incentive to run out-of-spec components, there'd be an incentive to mess with tyre pressures, there'd be an incentive to mess with the fuel load, etc.

I agree with your take in general (though the out-of-specs part usage seems a little too far-fetched). What my point is that it is a minor infraction with little to no bearing on the qualifying session and very little actual risk (as they weren't fighting for position so there is no scramble to minimise time in the pit lane). Giving a grid penalty taking into account the above points would have been unbelievably harsh
