  • He is probably too scared to push the car to its limit this year.

Isn't this true for every year. He is nowhere near max who is operating close to the limit of the car. The difference being that in the earlier seasons, the car was not suited to him while theoretically, this season's car should be better suited to him. Yet he has looked more off the pace than ever this year

  • People are commenting that the red bull is undriveable (is this the right word?) and that is why perez is struggling. But if you have been watching the sessions (practice, qualifying and races) this year, one can clearly see that Red bull has been suffering with massive understeer while their rear end has been pretty stable. This is different to 2022 and 2023 where Red bull had a sharper front end and the rear was looser so ideally this balance characteristic should suit perez and be the opposite of the balance that max prefers. Yet somehow max is the one who has been much much faster and other than a lack of skill, I can find no explanation for perez's struggles. I think he has lost his edge in the last few years and frankly should be replaced.

  • Turn 1 was not a pen man. See the race starts in COTA for every year and there will be atleast one car being pushed wide in turn 1. Hell in 2015 and 2021, the driver in P2 pushed out the pole sitter at T1. In 2017 and 2018, Hamilton conceded the corner and didn't try to go side by side which is why he was not forced wide. The nature of the track coupled with cars being on cold tyres always leads to that.

  • Well I guess we can say goodbye to the title fight. Norris has to win every race and with how good Ferrari look, that seems unlikely. Even red bull have clawed back some of the advantage so it's difficult for Lando gain 11 points per event.

  • This argument would have only worked if Lando had rejoined behind and then complained that Max pushed him off. Frankly that's what he should have done - he would have another chance to have a go at max while also potentially have max get a penalty. McLaren really fucked that up

  • Lawson going from 19th to 9th has been fantastic. Weird how VCARB gets one driver strategy right and one driver strategy horribly wrong each race.

Standard Vcarb fare at this point. Actually I am surprised that they got the strategy right even for 1 car
