  • Does P. J. Harvey's Let England Shake fit the bill?

Dark, and warmer than cold I personally think. But maybe we're understanding the temperature adjectives differently?

Edit: rereading the post with fresh, awake eyes - do it doesn't. It's very desolate.

  • An individual doesn’t truly understand and apply the scientific approach and method if they baselessly believe that certain phenomenon are caused by supernatural forces/entities. Ergo, the individual’s credibility in their established field is called into question since they may have applied similar illogic and pretenses to their work and understanding there.

That's not what you said in another comment under your meme.

  • Mostly just listening for keywords that wake it up and send a small true-false keyword thing, I'd assume. Maybe stores it locally and sends out once/day or something? Could be as part of the check for updates process.

Rig it up to something to detect all target IP addresses is a good start.

  • Ashamed to admit I was once (pre-Sachs phone call) at least intrigued and open to the idea of liking the noted sex pest and abuser Russell Brad. Stuff has continued to get worse.

Had been a fan of Kevin Spacey, too.

Gaga and P!nk have also gone done in my estimations somewhat, but unlike everyone else no serious reason for it.

Obligatory Gaiman and JK Rowling, too.

Edit: oh, and Luis Scott Vargas. Abandoned his pregnant wife for someone else, and started shilling crypto. 😵🤷🏼🙆🏾‍♂️

  • Mildly aphantastic.

Love reading, don't know or have any different experience to compare it to.

I don't visualise, but feel words and concepts as worda/concepts. I like descriptions as I can build up a concept with the words.

  • Islam states that the Quran was literally dictated by an angel and is the direct word of God.

The Quran also states that the Bible was written by human fans of Jesus, who was loved so much his true message about God was forgotten.

I don't think this argument does much to convince anyhow who isn't already of the mind that "the Bible is the sole source of truth in reality", which obviously the majority of the world isn't, (and probably all Muslims).

  • I've got type II bipolar.

The depression side sucks, so I'm lucky the hypomania just manifests as boundless energy, racing thoughts, and an inability to sleep.

Going for a walk in the middle of the night actually feels quite nice.

The depression is much more manageable these days, CBT, some time with a therapist, and self exploration with psychedelics helped a lot I think. I still get the big downer episodes, in one at the moment and I hope it'll clear up in a few days.

What sucks is when a wave of paranoia or anxiety hits. As both those make coping much more exhausting.

But I'm alive, in my late 30s now, holding down a job, have a family, and often have people tell me that they think I'm a great parent.

So it's not the end for your son. Everyone's journey and path is different, and there'll be hard moments - but people are strong and we can find ways to push through and adapt.

  • True, but we also tested many other materials across thousands of years and the death rate of contact with dihydrogen monoxide only exceeds the baseline death rate with immersion of the oral and respiratory sections of the visage. A property shared with most other substances, especially in liquid forms.

  • Not sure a tyranny of the masses is a good idea, but maybe some community sourced guidelines on what works... But a lot of online communities are already based off of what works for communities, even if enforcement can be flawed.

  • Yes, folks can and do.

But Hollywood likes to good wash the current status quo, so let's ignore PayPal's union busting and censorship policies, bombing civilians, systemic racism, and take it up to 11 in a fictional future.

Or maybe I'm just jaded by the biggest fans of "purgey" settings being right wing folks.

  • I always assumed the Purges were set up by a far right government to legally kill anyone who tried to organise against them.

Send goon squads (not the new ones) to smash up and kill coops, local farms, unions, uncooperative lawyers, journalists, etc.

  • 不得不这样。人口太多呀。 -_-

I liked to respond with examples of how British Government, amongst others, always use having too small a population as an excuse for the same things. Chuck in some examples of bigger or smaller countries having a crack to show it's just selfish government reguritation.
