It’s quite simple.

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

He offers them a spot in the first group. That’s it. That’s all. They have been raised from birth to believe they deserve it, and they’ve been taught their whole lives that the evil democrats won’t let them have it.

You don’t have to be stupid to believe something like that, just abysmally self-centered.

And he’s actually giving it to them, you’ll notice. The first leader they’ve voted for in a long time that did so unequivocally. They’ll walk through fire for him now.

These are the same morons that think Bezos isn’t rich enough to give all his workers raises; that ‘he would lose all his money!’

He figured he was in the first group, and since conservatives tend to think women are property, he figured her being with him put her in that group too. Whoops.

I once saw it described on Lemmy that Conservatives have sympathy but no empathy.

American here. We are dumb. And dangerous. He’s probably going to go after Panama and Mexico first, but make no mistake, he will come for Canada if he can.

Unfortunately that’s rather understandable. A largely ‘white’ and mostly male cast of mostly humans running around saving the day and ‘defeating/ enlightening’ backwards ‘alien’ cultures in what are basically military ships.

So if you ignore the messages and the actual stories being told and only look at the superficial stuff (as MAGA Morons are wont to do) it does, sadly, pass the facist vibe check.
