I love enabling the display of the instance of other users. It lets you realize how many small and niches instances are out there!

Unfortunately, many people in Europe are still on Facebook and they're being fed with Russian-backed propaganda.

We've seen it during COVID, how many people thought that the vaccines were bad and dangerous? That's because they've been reading misinformation on Facebook.

We still have mainstream media sources, but we should tackle the problem before it's too late.

It's sad but I agree. Lemmy works well, especially if you use third-party apps such as Voyager, but Mastodon... is so badly thought. I can navigate it because I'm a technical person, but normal people will never be able to understand how to use it, what are instances, why it asks me to type my instance when I want to follow someone, etc.

Also, Cyprus is not technically in Europe, but it's still in the EU.

Unfortunately yes. There are some exceptions, like French Guyana in South America being in the European Union, but that's because it's under the republic of France.
