  • I thought I was the only one. I dread spending money, I feel worse every time I do it. So usually I only buy something if the previous thing that I had broke down. I also never buy food outside of groceries. I wear clothes until they turn to rags too lol. There are a couple of exceptions such as audio books (audible sub), PC upgrades (once every 6-7 years) and Steam games (on sales only), but those are just the only things that I find truly worthwhile.

  • My friend let me try out his Quest 2 and I feel like it spoiled my first impression of VR... That is, I was not impressed. Picture quality was abysmal, I definitely expected something more immersive than blurry binoculars experience, and Facebook integration was annoying as fuck.

  • I went to the gym for about a year, went on a stricter diet too, but it was making me even more miserable so I stopped. Absolutely hated the narcissist/"motivational" subculture surrounding it all too.

  • If Windows is good enough for John Carmack it's good enough for me. Tried Linux as my main driver for a couple years and there were nothing but hoops, problems and endless configurations to jump through. Why do I have to learn every goddamn thing about the operating system to use it properly? It's like washing your clothes by hand. Ever tried that? Well I had to for several months once, not fun at all. So yes I actively like Windows.

  • Good, it's the worst trend that completely breaks any immersion. Imagine roleplaying all this cringy shit with your bearded dungeon master across the table. That's not how RPGs are meant to work. The perfect balance of romance in CRPGs had already been established by the likes of KOTOR, BG2 and P:T. It's classy, not overbearing and completely optional.

  • Well considering Elon situation I wouldn't blame anyone for making fun of his idiotic ventures. Also starship is actually dumb and saying "you expected for it to blow up" is something no real scientist would've said unless they were making a bomb.

  • It's called dark because we can't see it, and matter because it interacts gravitationally. There is nothing wrong with the term and the model of it even if we don't fully understand what the hell exactly it actually is and most importantly why it actually is. It's literally how science works. We don't know what the hell quantum probabilities and all the weird particles and fields mean on a metaphysical level either but QFT is the most tested and predictively powerful theory of science ever made. Is it complete? No, we may even never find the theory of everything. But it doesn't make our discoveries wrong.
