Wow, I don't think I've ever seen someone with this confusing of an opinion. And I've met Trump supporters that love Star Trek.

Idk if a judge offing himself because he lost his election bid would inspire many copy cats. His life wasn't ruined, it probably would've been if he hadn't died. But he didn't want to wait to find out apparently.

When the front page doesn't have posts from over 2 days ago on it then I might say Lemmy is a good size, but it's a pretty stagnate site.

If you're an American and you're not a native American you're family immigrated here. Why is it so weird to want to know where your family or ancestors come from, I'm lucky and can trace my family name back a couple hundred years. I'm still American I just got family history that's fun to know about.

And Trump hasn't endorsed it?

I don't really follow gaming "journalism" as much as I used to, but I thought that RPS was pretty reputable, at least compared to IGN and it's contemporaries. Has something changed?

That guy rubbed me the wrong way especially at the end talking about how you can't trust people "related to the pirating scene" and their claims about Denuvo, but you can totally trust the people who make it and need to make money off it.

Also the Denuvo dude referencing a study and using it to show why companies need Denuvo and then walking it back and saying he doesn't trust the study because it also shows that after 3 months it's useless was honestly just kind of funny.

I guess since I've pirated a game before I'm "related to the scene" so my opinion therefore is invalid in the eyes of the all mighty denuvo but I hope they crash and burn, and if it's true that they hire the people who crack their games I hope they fuck it up from the inside while getting paid.

Spotifys AI DJ is almost there. He mixes songs you listen to and songs they think you'd like. I don't remember it ever really talking about the news though.

I really don't get how Texans can vote for a Canadian that changed their name? Don't they hate non-americans and people that transition? Why don't Democrats rub it in that he's "not American" and that his real name is Rafael. I feel like he would've been old news if any dem did that 12 years ago?

I'm about 30 minutes south of Tampa Bay. We got hit hard by wind but the flooding was less than it was during Helene, but we also had a dam or something burst during that which caused a majority of the flooding. Our power was out for the night but we woke up to it being back on. We're lucky because I have family not even a mile away that still doesnt have power tonight. Lots of trees knocked down and blocking roads, but I saw about a dozen different landscaping businesses going through the neighborhoods and clearing up roads and getting rid of the downed trees. I have family that live in a community with a golf course and the houses on the course got wrecked by the wind. A majority of houses in Florida, especially with pools, have these screened cages called lanai's and a lot of those have either been ripped open or completely collapsed. It seems like most stores are gonna open back up tomorrow so people will be able to get essentials again. I think everyone is just thankful that it wasn't as bad as it could be.

I had an employee direct me to self checkout at a fucking gas station were I was the only customer in the store. Shits pathetic.

It doesn't, it's because people shoplift at self checkout all the time and the big retailers can't figure out how to stop it. Almost every shop in my town forces you to do self checkout, they don't even have cashiers most of the time. Last time I was at my local walmart they had like 6 self checkouts and 4 cashiers just standing there staring at everyone trying to find shoplifters. They still can't find them though lol.

The cop was on foot and told the golfer to stop, the golfer didn't stop. Sounds kinda cut and dry to me.

Maybe the millionaire golfer could've done the same?
