    • You can criticize Zionism as an ideology, but you can't call for its end.
    • You can refer to the current Israeli government as "criminal," but you can't call for the dissolution of the state of Israel as it currently exists.

    You see the problem, surely?

  • He was also a Nazi. Many such examples of Nazis being into weird pseudosciences, especially ones having to do with innate biological characteristics.

  • Either way, philosopher John Rawls concludes differently in his 1971 A Theory of Justice, stating that a just society must tolerate the intolerant, for otherwise, the society would then itself be intolerant, and thus unjust. However, Rawls qualifies this assertion, conceding that under extraordinary circumstances, if constitutional safeguards do not suffice to ensure the security of the tolerant and the institutions of liberty, a tolerant society has a reasonable right to self-preservation to act against intolerance if it would limit the liberty of others under a just constitution. Rawls emphasizes that the liberties of the intolerant should be constrained only insofar as they demonstrably affect the liberties of others: "While an intolerant sect does not itself have title to complain of intolerance, its freedom should be restricted only when the tolerant sincerely and with reason believe that their own security and that of the institutions of liberty are in danger."

That's a whole lot of words to communicate what could be easily described by reframing the concept of tolerance as a social contract rather than a moral precept.

  • So they took over a building they don’t own, refused to leave, and had a list of demands?

Yeah, sounds like something the police should be called for.

Would you say the same thing about organized sit-ins in segregated buildings during the civil rights movement? Same set of facts, took over a building they didn't own, refused to leave, had a list of demands. If not, then clearly you believe that if the status quo is untenable and the demands reasonable then the action is justified.

This is peaceful civil disobedience in opposition to an ongoing genocide being broken up by the police state.

  • Right, white people aren't allowed to be activists. Instead they should bitch and moan in internet comment sections about activists not doing enough or not doing the right things while doing nothing themselves.

  • This is ridiculous. What would Greta have to do to earn your respect, huh? You're really gonna ask "why wasn't she on the boat" as if she planned for the humanitarian aid vessel to be drone striked the day before she was going to board it? The fuck are you doing?

  • She is both a climate activist and advocate for Palestinian liberation, and framing her risking her life to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinians as a shallow attempt at staying famous is incredibly ignorant and arrogant.

  • Biden won 2020, and I think it's safe to say he was fairly establishment.

Barely, and only coming out of Trump's first term that had many people looking for a "return to normal." The Democratic party will never succeed running another Biden every election. The people can see that the status quo is not working for them, and they're fed up with corporate dems telling them that we need to preserve the status quo at all costs.

Call me what you like, but I think you have more in common with me than with MAGA. And if your IFF is malfunctioning, well, I hope you get it checked out soon.

I didn't call you anything. I can see that you're my friend, but the establishment and all the politicians who fight to preserve it instead of fighting the fascists in power are foes, and the sooner you realize that the sooner we can work together to change it.

  • I highly doubt that the number of people who claim the fact that she's a woman is the reason they didn't vote for her is anywhere near high enough to swing the election. Even if it were, those people are not worth conceding to. There are far more people for whom her gender is irrelevant but did not vote for her due to a myriad of other reasons than there are brain-dead morons who think women just aren't cut out to be president.

  • This line is coming from neoliberals who can't understand why Hillary and Kamala lost and are blaming sexism because they can't come to terms with the fact that the American people are turning away from the establishment in its entirety.

Yes, sexism is a problem in America. No, it is not why liberals are losing.

  • Kamala's campaign wasn't fucked because she's a woman, it was fucked because she's a careerist who doesn't believe in anything.

  • I'm sure the velociraptors helped you stay focused too.

  • Yep, and it's easily memorable because if you learn to count in binary on your fingers 4 is 🖕.

  • And you don't think it may have had more to do with what you were saying / the way you were behaving than your looks? I don't doubt that incel may be thrown around more as a basic insult these days - it's just reaching that level of ubiquity in everyday speech - but I have more often heard it used towards men who are saying or doing things that are misogynistic. The same kind of misogyny that betrays a deeper insecurity has long been common in adolescent boys who are going through puberty and dealing with feelings they don't know how to deal with yet, and the word incel has become a convenient way to call it out, but I do feel that when it comes to adolescents there should be some charitability and understanding. Andrew Tate and the rest of the Manosphere are giving these kids the opposite of what they need, though.

  • It's more like a cross between RimWorld and Stardew Valley, with a bit of Terraria-like RPG mechanics.

  • And they chose Henry Ford of all people, the man responsible for the modern assembly line (capitalist alienation at its most extreme) and an actual Nazi.

  • I have the version that was made for the OG Switch and the build quality is garbage tier. Developed stick drift in both sticks in less than a month.

  • It's a good thing we can surpass the limitations of our perception by creating external tools that augment our senses and translate extra-sensory information about the world into something human perceptible. We've even gone so far as to send such devices into space.

  • Nor does it end with the UK, which is the perspective I assume you were speaking from when you said owning a car is a privilege and that people should just walk.

  • Not in the US we don't. A car is a necessity for the vast majority of Americans because of how our cities and towns are built. The car lobby makes sure that doesn't change because they can take advantage of that fact to put people in massive amounts of debt.
