Ah, I buy a lot of old scifi, so this is from 1984, little more excusable giving the lack of modernization. It’s gone past more than a few eyes, and yet I still caught it.

Umm. Yeah until you work in them. I loved getting free bread from the bakery, but god we ripped a floor out and replaced an oven and cooling tower. The amount of yeast bugs 0.0

Each factory has its own little quirks.

One of my favorite places was pie factory. So many delicious smells.

On an interesting note for a bakery, we weren’t allowed in the plant on certain days, it was when they were doing their jalapeño cheese bagels. Special PPE requirements and it was just simpler to keep contractors out on those days.

The distillery is right next to a chicken processing plant, the smells can be pretty interesting depending on how they mix. Then further down the road is a shingle factory as well as a waste water treatment plant. It’s an interesting area to say the least.

I fail to see which one of dictionary.com’s 38 definitions of natural supports calling an air conditioner a natural dehumidifier.

It’s not a “natural humidifier” why are you clumping those two words into a singular item?

There’s your own TIL, you can make a post now! You really are intentionally obtuse, you literally explained how an ac naturally dehumidifies that air, but dance around using the proper term since you’ve got it in your head that it was misused, even so far as to ignore a dictionary definition.

How many more examples do you need? I can go and find a special example for each of your asinine claims here.

The waste heat blowing across the coils is what unfreezes the moisture for it to drip off. It works better as a dehumidifer the warmer the air blowing across it, as hot air holds more moisture. Also cars have a neat little switch to recycle the air, sometimes it’s automatic with ac, this allows cabin air, instead of waste air to also blow across the coils.

Also, natural has more than a single definition, you’re being intentionally obtuse by focusing on one. It also doesn’t mean it’s part of “nature”.

Water freezes to the coils, and the heat melts it and it drips out of the vehicle. Same process happens inside houses too, but it drips into a drain instead.

Turning the ac on with heat will help pull moisture out of air! Ac is a natural dehumidifer.

How do you think this will play out? They’re either going to get caught with it, or it’s useless when the regime collapses as they’ll likely be mostly dead anyways. It’s useless as long as the regime remains, and keeping it is a time bomb waiting to go off, and not just for you, you’re a risking your family and friends too.

Cement is one ingredient in concrete, the other is sand and aggregate, which just require access to really.

Come on buddy, you can’t just read a paper and pretend to be a professional on a topic. It’s not hard to adjust mixture strength for admixtures, it’s done every friggen day.

Concrete has different spec ratios, spec a higher psi concrete, and allow the lower end strength.

Commonly done when you want to use accelerators or retardants already.

Edit 2, an even better one for making your own in a mixer, it’s not as exact as you think.

That’s neat, but a typical house foundation only uses like 10-15 cubic meters of concrete. Even a flat 8” slab for a 40’x40’ house (huge footprint!!!) uses 30 cubic meters of concrete. Only 2/3 the 45 they say.

Concrete is also pricey already ~$250 a meter (CAD, US is close).
