1. Try out different linux distros / desktop environments in virtual machines and find out which ones you like the most. I spent about a month doing this, until I found kde neon.
2. Know that you are going to break stuff, and don't be afraid of it. Even if you are a tech savy Windows user (as i was), Linux will be a new thing for you and you'll not know the nuances. I broke my installs a bunch of times because of things like nvidia drivers, but I was running Linux in virtual machines so I just started over from scratch. Breaking things makes you learn the fastest imo, so don't be scared of it.
3. Have fun. Linux is going to give you some frustrations, so it's important that you are using Linux because you want to so you can keep moving forward.

yeah, I've never heard of anyone that didn't give up on rain world once.

I personally gave up on it until I found out about a coop mod that you can use to play with a friend, and I played it with my friend (who also gave up on it once) until I got past that 20h that makes the game really fun.

Rain World (I love it so much please take it away from me before I lose all of my free time):

• Very fluid procedural movement that takes 300+ hours to learn
• Torturous first 20 hours that most people give up during

mmddyy and yyddmm fighting for which is the worst time format ever imaginable

btw, I thought nearby share was a new feature in android, ig it's just the windows integration that's coming in now

is it available on windows by default though?

Also most android devices take a while, I don't even think most devices are running android 13 so it'll take a while for that to be the case

I wouldn't bother with world honestly, it's the "main" instance now so it gets targeted a lot, I prefer sh.itjust.works for that reason.

ig "micro soft" refers to them

how does ddg know that? also ddg is not very good for privacy imo, better to use something like searx or startpage
