  • Back in the day, when Reddit was a thing, I always wanted some sort of dynamic curated block list. If I were to subscribe to the "sports" block list, then all the current sports subs would be added to my filters. Every time a new sports sub gets created, users have the ability to add that new sub to the dynamic "sports" list. At that point, everyone else that is subscribed to that "sports" list gets that new sub added to their filters automatically.

  • I solved all my dual boot issues with this one weird trick

  • It's The Creation of Adam by Michaelangelo. I understand it can be difficult to identify it when its main recognizable feature has been censored like this.

  • But this way offers a new paradigm in upward revenue stream dynamics.

  • What is the difference between that and simply reboot? Does systemctl reboot have any benefits?

  • Beans, vegan cats, and AI-generated CCTV stills. If only this post somehow incorporated someone that is refusing to poop. Then this would cover all of our bases.

  • Do carriers still require a new two-year contract when you get a disocunted device from them?

  • I wish there was an additional option to block all users of an instance separate from the instance block that applies to communities.

I have thought about that and wondered: how would child comments under a blocked user be handled? If I was on Instance_A and able to block Instance_B to no longer see comments from those users, what about the other Instance_A users (who have not blocked Instance_B) who reply to Instance_B comments on an Instance_A thread? Would I still see those Instance_A comments, and the Instance_B comments in the comment chain just appear blank or something? Or would the entire comment chain, starting at the Instance_B comment, just not get displayed to you at all?

  • SuiPlay0X1 runs Playtron's device-agnostic gaming operating system, enabling gamers to play both Web3 and Web2 games across PC and mobile.

GamesBeat have some more details, noting it will have "native Sui blockchain integration via zkLogin and Sui Kiosk SDKs, enabling asset ownership directly connected to a device’s account system for the first time in the gaming industry

What is a web3 game? Something that allows you to grind for NFTs?

  • Sony has a much better [trigger rumbling/tension] implementation in the PS5 controller, nothing outside Sony published games use it though - but it's compatible on Windows with additional drivers (DS4Win) (not sure about Linux here)

It also does not work wirelessly. The controller itself and its basic rumble obviously do, but you will not experience the fancy haptic features unless the controller is connected via USB.

  • I am not a fan of that naming scheme, but it definitely predates Reddit. I remember the old Saw films being described as "torture porn".

  • Oh, I'm sorry. I could put the trash into a landfill where it's gonna stay for millions of years. Or I could burn it up, get a nice smoky smell in here, and let that smoke go into the sky where it turns into stars.

  • Good thing that it went to Wine I guess, as they do lots of work to get old Windows programs up and running in Linux and that often involves Mono.

I see this as the main purpose of this transfer of ownership. When it comes to developing new software, MS has their modern tech stack for creating cross-compatible code, and the recommendation is to use that. But that is not helpful when trying to get old legacy software running on a modern system. So MS is giving this "outdated" technology to the WINE team. A team whose primary goal is getting incompatible software to run in the "wrong" environment. This should allow WINE to continue to properly handle older Mono software for the foreseeable future.
