Personally it's the degree of fanaticism around Linux here. I use Linux on most of my machines but I've seen so much weird gatekeeping and elitism around Linux here. I disagree with citing Framework for now since they've only existed for 3 years. There's MacPorts but Homebrew is by far the most common package manager on MacOS. I wouldn't use Homebrew on Linux personally but it's great on Mac
