  • The less policies that target hispanics from voting, the purpler texas gets. My sister lives in Dallas and the support for Harris in the cities is colossal right now. They're a democrat president and a governor away from being swing, but those are hard to fight for.

  • At first, I was pissed that he didn't bow out two months ago.

Now I have nothing but respect for the man. He realized when to step aside and let his partner take the reign, and did so with effective enough timing to throw a massive wrench into the republicans' plans.

If Kamala wins, history will see him as the kind elder statesman who knew when to step aside for the good of the country.

  • True, but there's also a VERY loud dissent against her on the right, which they would be happy to run with in their ads up to the election. The right - and the sponsors behind them (Russia, chiefly) - ate experts at loudly dispersing disinformation with their rhetoric (see: anti-vaxers, everything about trump, etc), and having AOC in the spotlight would give them a lot of ammo in the form of ThE rAdIcAl LiBeRaLs "talking over the executive office" etc. I just don't trust that the milquetoast voting public wouldn't buy into that loud rhetoric enough to not siphon more votes than they would gain. Unless that's too pessimistic of me?

  • He tried but the establishment stopped his momentum short. I was one of his diehards in 16.

I like Whitmeyer, and I feel that a lot of former Bernie Bros have gotten behind her. I hope she gets the nomination, though I strongly doubt it will be anyone but Kamala.

That said, regardless of who it is, absolutely voting for them no matter what.

  • That's very true. I like the play of "more than a bit of chaos on both sides rather then stubbornly try and defy the headlines and possibly fail. As we see with Trump's truth social post, whining about getting back the money spent campaigning against biden. They're just as unprepared for this than the democrats.

  • Definitely should have happened 6 months ago, but better late than never - something about planting a tree.

This also robs the GOP of the hE's ToO oLd argument, which is one of their only effective attacks.
