  • That's just organization of independent actors wishing to push a message together. In a way, it is beautiful. I wish it wouldn't be message to defend and block and close out, but that's the current realities and worries of the Fedi.

  • Russians honestly are mostly waiting for those times; chaos is frightening, but stable decline into a dystopia is even worse.

Besides, keeping on with "stable" regime means losing many, many lives; possibly way more than a radical change can entail. But that depends on who and how comes to power.

  • It's perfectly possible to be sympathetic to Jews as nationality and Israelis as citizens all while agreeing Israeli government and military are doing war crimes, despite the latter desperately trying to make you believe it's one and the same.

  • I'd argue you still have one skeleton if you lose limbs or teeth.

Amount of skeletons is an integer representing the anount of bone structures holding and protecting human body (or whatever's left of it).

The real question is, how much of which parts of skeleton can we lose with it still being skeleton instead of a set of bones?

  • People are concerned because there were examples of such things going horribly wrong, most notably with Google and XMPP.

Way back in the day, Google announced that its Talk messenger will support XMPP, which made decentralization fans very happy - finally, they can communicate with everyone from the comfort of their decentralized instance!..oh.

Google started implementing features in Talk that are incompatible with XMPP, and then dropped XMPP support altogether, ending up deprecating Talk in favor of Google-only Hangouts. This forced many XMPP users to get into Google's ecosystem, since the people they contacted through XMPP were mostly just using Google Talk, and they couldn't be contacted through XMPP any more. As a result, XMPP became worse off than it started and got practically forgotten by all but 1,5 nerds who keep it alive.

now most of their contacts were in defederated Google to which they now didn't have access.

  • Recommending Linux is good; forcing it down someone's throat is not.

If parents are just comfy using Windows, it'll get them super frustrated when they'll face new issues coming from Linux use, as you just can't turn Linux into Windows and they never asked for it.

Now, if they complain about all the shit Windows throws at them, you can offer an alternative.

  • Glasses.

Look, everyone votes for penny, but really if your social skills are exceptional, rendering you able to "flawlessly navigate social situations", you can get a lot of it anytime.

Want a super high paying job? Glasses! Wanna hit that girl? Glasses! Wanna get anything you want? Stay cool, with the use of glasses!

Penny does seem OP, but only for as long as it's active, and while it is on cooldown (which is, on average, a month) you live your regular life with all the misery, and even if you've managed to accumulate money and influence through your lucky streaks, there's always a lot that can go wrong. Besides, a random nature of a penny means you can never rely on it, and always have to assume you'll lose. Betting on a penny makes you the ultimate RNG person, with dramatic rises and even more dramatic falls. Betting on glasses makes you insanely powerful on demand. Always. Anytime.

  • Especially choked.

Like, even girls not into BDSM stuff in general are super often into choking.

Guess it has something to do with physiology of sexual sensations, in a twisted way of which our brains are full
