  • I want to sincerely thank you for this post. We have the same attitude towards ads. I am getting a new TV soon and am trying to find one without the ads on the launcher screen. I didn't realize a 3rd party launcher was possible. I an definitely going to put that to good use. And will also use Launcher Manager to replace it. My current TV has the factory install launcher with all updates disabled to stop the Google ads.

I use YouTube premium to avoid ads and to give the channels I do watch more money.

Right now I am leaning towards a Samsung or Sony. Do you have any input on those brands?

  • They have a group for celebrating trolling in any actual discussion. Bad faith arguments and just shit throwing trying to derail any actual conversation. Any online group, and I mean any at all, is better without them.

  • I'm doing it. I build a new pc every 5 to 10 years. The new monster has posted. Need a few small cables before I really get started. I was going to put an older copy of win10 pro on it. But I'm going to take the Linux leap. The tower will be free of windows from day 1.

Nobara simply because the author also wrote Proton, the Steam linux gateway. (Open to suggestions).

    All AMD.

Gaming. Streaming. Internet. Video files. Voice recording. Occasional simple documents. That's 99.99 percent of my usage.

  • Ok. Can you point me in the right direction?

I am building a gaming pc this weekend. I got to the bios screen tonight. I was going to install windows tomorrow. But I'll give Linux a try.

    Mint Cinnamon?

I know Proton works for Steam games. Can you twitch stream with Linux?
