  • In the short term, sure.. But the reason its like this in the first place is because everyone takes the stance of not rocking the boat. I say throw em overboard.

And shit we've all been there, I had a coworker say some vile shit around me before and just let it slide because its easier. I'm in a different position these days and find keeping things secret / quiet only allows these issues to fester.

    1. report them to HR for racist comments in the workplace.
    2. report them for sexual harassment.

3 & 4) especially 4 just report to HR for having too many political comments on the floor.

All the stuff you listed is inappropriate and contributing the drama. You report it so that you can say "I've already made it known I'm not trying to have these conversations with you, please stop" and when they don't you go back to step one till they get fired.

The alternative is to learn to accept your coworkers as they are, unprofessional or not, and not let their bullshit irritate you so much.

Not saying which is correct, but you have options.

  • Not a CPA, but if you really had no regard for consequences should the tax strike fail, couldn't you just increase your claim # to minimize how much is taken out each paycheck and then the strike would happen during tax season when no one (in this hypothetical) pays the IRS what's owed?

  • Yes medications have potential side effects, but HBP meds have been around for decades, are well studied and shown to be preferable versus the known outcomes of untreated hypertension.

Hypertension will fuck you up way more than taking an additional medication will. On the topic od the liver, It actually causes new blood vessels to be made to circumvent the liver which leads to more waste in bloodstream not being filtered out.

  • I have found that if the meeting is actually quick (sub 20 minutes) rebounding is not as difficult. When the "quick meeting" turns into a check in + "do we have time to talk about..." + any other number of meandering paths a meeting can travel down, I'll have a hard time getting back into task mode.

Something that helps me is to take a walk right after those meetings. Helps me reset when I get back to my desk.

  • Not wasting energy explaining this to you. You're clearly incapable of engaging with a disagreement which has lead you to double down and move a few goalposts around.

All criticism of your original point was done respectfully, its really not my problem if you can't just acknowledge you misspoke in the first post.. Its downvoted like 20+ times man. What other evidence do you need that maybe you didn't communicate your thoughts clearly.

  • Hey man don't take it personal that we disagree with your original point..if you meant to say something else, fair enough, but we all posting / responding to the OP which was more broad than what you are saying now.

Additionally, my response was more about quality of materials which may incrue extra costs and had nothing to do with buying over priced designer stuff. I agree with your new point, but thats not what you said initially.
