  • Your own link says only the judge saw them, nobody else, and they won't be seen by anybody else until the case is over & nothing can be done to them. Never mind the info provided sounds like it's not terribly useful.

Actually, the judge opened the sealed cover, perused the contents thoroughly, then asked WMF counsel "How can these addresses be verified?" to which the reply was "These are all we have, and the website does not conduct verification of its users". The ANI counsel assisted his opponent by saying that service on the editors (D2-D4) is complete, they have not appeared, so can we please move on to my defamation takedowns. The judge then resealed the covers. So it can be safely inferred that WMF did not give ANI anything, and ANI never wanted the D2-D4 details at all, it was only a procedural formality so ANI can take on the "Wikimedia method/model" directly which is troubling all their SPAs/IPs. On a procedural note, once the case is complete and judgment given, the sealed covers are opened and anyone can inspect its contents. So nothing to fret over. Storm in a teacup.

  • I don't believe this crap for a second - they can afford all the security they need to protect themselves. I think this is an attempt at manipulation to keep us at bay for a while until we cool off & resume living like before this happened, so they can continue doing what they've been doing all the while knowing that they shouldn't push much further for now.

Let's face it - human attention spans are short, and in three months or so this will be pushed back in most people's minds as they continue dealing with their day-to-day struggles. This messaging is designed to make us feel "heard" so we wait to see what happens rather than risk our lives on taking further action, but after a while nothing will have changed & it'll all be the same as before.

  • Hindsight is always 20-20, and you're an asshole to think you're justified in taking advantage of that to hold someone up to a level of perfection through that lens - one that I'm quite certain you wouldn't qualify for either.

Again, grow up & GTF over yourself.

  • They compare them because they are the most recent presidents. I've also seen Biden compared to Obama and DUHbya, but you don't see those because that's not what you're looking for to propagate your preferred narrowly-focused narrative.

Grow up, get some perspective, and get over your high-n-mighty self.

    I'm done with you. Goodnight.

  • He ain't the what any sane person would like, but in a crowded market of shitty politicians to choose from, he could be far worse - as many believe (myself included) we're about to find out.

Regardless, 1,500 people is a LOT to review the backgrounds of - especially with the time he has left. I don't think we should be surprised a few bad apples made it through the review process, and I'd rather risk that than those who actually were deserving of it not get theirs as well.

TL;DR: I don't think an understandably rushed process makes him any more of an imperfect human being than he already was. I'm not happy with some decisions he's made, but on the whole he's been no worse than the average.
