  • I can see why using both Mastodon and Lemmy could be quite nice to be used for different types of content you want to find.

  • Character Limits are annoying, I don't think Lemmy has one or at least I haven't reached it.

  • I'm a Lesbian hun, I only go one way lol

  • Yeah I it's amazing having the Fediverse <3

  • I've just created my kbin account now, I'll give it a good go, been enjoying Lemmy the most as of the moment but if I can find a platform that works even better for me then that would be great.

  • I pretty much agree, I find being able to flip between communities more useful than just having a feed of the same like-minded people, you explained it really well thanks.

  • Pretty much what I thought it was like, but what about Kbin?

  • Oh I didn't release there was that much difference between Kbin and Lemmy, I knew they were similar but I didn't release they sort of work together a bit more.

I like the UI of Threads sure but never been a huge user of Twitter or Reddit. haven't really been a user of Social Media but I do find Lemmy a lot more freeing in the chatting sort of way.

  • Yeah I didn't really think when I said about Podcasts tbh but it's nice to know that I can choose what I want to use.

  • Yeah that's at least something and I have been wanting to look further into running a Plex server.

  • No problem, hope you enjoy.

  • Hents why I asked the question, I'd rather move away from these paid for services ran by companies to earn mass profit from people.

  • Thanks will look into it as soon as I can as it looks kind of cool

  • Yeah that's a fair point, I sometimes forget RSS feeds are a thing.

  • I believe it would have to be more the artists wanting to publish there music on the platform, as letting people 'borrow' your music will quickly get to a cease and desist. So it would be more of a platform for artists to be able to publish there music and podcasts that is open for anyone to create there own instance from the source code such as Mastodon does for the Micro-Bloggers, It would mean artists control there music but also can release it to the public to listen too, the only main problem I can see is money, the main thing I can see across the whole Fediverse is money tbh, like who pays for the servers and stuff, where do they get that money from and how does that effect the Fediverse. Really do hope we get a PeerTube like thing for Music but maybe in the future.
