  • My 401k did considerably better under Trump. If that growth continued for 5-10 years I'd be able to retire quite early. But there are things that are much more important than a 401k.

(Saving for retirement is incredibly important if you haven't started yet. Please. Please. Start now! The secret sauce is time. The younger you start the better off you'll be - finger wagging PSA over)

  • I can respect that. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Jan 6th has proven they'll go to extremes to win. My big hope is that the maga movement gets crushed next year and the Republicans turn on each other. My fear is that Republicans will coalesce and the contentious coalition of Democrats, liberals, progressives, etc. will fracture. At least one moron is going to say, "I'm not voting for Biden because X I'm voting for Jill stein instead" and that'll make it one vote easier for Trump to take control and run the DOJ like some comic book crime lord.

  • If you're being ignored then remove the people who are ignoring you and replace them them with ones who won't.

  • If the party controlled the primary then Crowley would have won. I don't like arguments where everything is X but if Y happens that just proves X. I see it as flawed logic.

  • Wait first it was:

The primary controlled by the very party actively fighting progressives.

    Then it became:

    A rare and momentous triumph.

Does "the party" determine the primary or do the voters? It's one or the other.

  • You figured me out. I'm actually a dog though because on the Internet no one knows you're a dog.

  • And my point is the only way we can overcome that bovine manure is to keep voting. To not let them trick you into thinking that they'll always win; that their victory is inevitable.

  • People vote once and a while. In the 2020 presidential election voter turn out spiked. The 2022 midterm though? 46%

You want to protest? Go for it.

You want to scream in all caps? Go for it

You want to say "fuck the fascists" or talk about what you'll do to them? Go for it

Do whatever you want. As long as one of the things you do is vote.

  • You do you. I'm willing to bet you're a tough guy behind a keyboard but gutless wonder in the real world.

  • You're so incredibly pessimistic. Then how did Ocasio-Cortez beat Crowley in 2018? He had been in Congress for twenty years and was the chair of the House Democratic Caucus! If "the party" controlled the primary why would they "let" her win? The only way things can ever get better is by voting.

  • Let me know when it's something other that text on the Internet. I voted this past Tuesday. I back up what I say is important.

  • That's why you have to vote in the primary. AOC should have taught you that. Also, did you happen to see the last sentence in that previous comment?

  • I'm very interested in seeing how that would play out. When you organize that let me know I'll watch with gusto. Personally, I think you'll end up gassed or pepper sprayed, tazed, and arrested. Or maybe dead. I'll watch for you on CNN though.

  • My personal opinion is that there are some chemicals that are so detrimental to a person that society has the obligation to limit their use. Also, there is no articulable right to drugs in the Constitution except alcohol through the 21st amendment.

  • Your original comment:

The reason porn pays is because so few woman are willing to give up their dignity for the sake of temporary cash flow. If everyone did porn, people would be making scraps.

You're making a basic supply and demand argument. As supply goes down (i.e. becomes scarce) and assuming demand remains constant the cost will increase.

If you're selling apples. And 100 people want apples. The price you charge will fluctuate depending on how many apples you have. If you have 10 the cost goes up. If you have 1,000 the cost goes down.

My argument is pornography is not scarce. Meaning there's a lot of it available (on the market) so I disagree with your assessment as to why "porn pays"

  • You do you. Everything you say online is stored on some server somewhere though.
