They're little bits of debris and fibrous points in the gel matrix of your eye. They don't go away ever, but they float to a part of your eye you don't pay as much attention to. They tend to "go away" in people who consistently sleep on the same side. If you're a back sleeper, or move around a lot, they tend to stick near your macula (your main focal point).
When I run ocular scans on people I can see them drifting around. They're not a problem unless they're dense or dark, then they might be blood due to a retinal tear or diabetic retinopathy.
Dreams don't really make any sense. When you wake up, you're remembering the emotions and linking them with images, but as the feelings fade, unless you were actively making them into a narrative, the random stimulus soup doesn't have any staying power worth remembering. Trying to remember just corrupts your working memory and will make you change and add details that weren't there. Same reason eye witness testimony is very often wrong.
The batteries are actually really simple. The best thing you can do to increase efficiency and save money is learn to replace the cells. You can get higher quality lithium cells than the batteries come with if they start to fail for way cheaper than you'd expect. The boards have like 12 circuits, and if you can't fix them you can buy them for a few bucks.
While those are better than your alternative, they're still sedentary activities that feed your dopamine addiction. Try doing things outside of screens and media. It will help.
Stop paying attention to the media and do something rewarding. Build stuff, draw, read books, learn to cook, play an instrument, raise chickens, start camping. Do anything other than dwell in your misery. The world will continue regardless of you watching it. If you think everything is terrible, you already know which side of politics is evil, so just vote against them when the the me comes and don't bother following what's happening. You can't effect it and it will only drive you crazy. It's all just a distraction feeding a dopamine addiction you'll never be ready to let go of. Social media especially. Play some slick jams and do the dishes, it's very therapeutic.
I've noticed a difference between the Lowe's/retailer Metabo tools and the stuff they have at Menards and Amazon. Menards especially seems to only stock discontinued models. I've been consistently surprised at how hardy mine have been. Maybe I just got lucky, or you unlucky.
What's the matter babe, you still haven't fired you 40 Jillimeter Janon.
