  • The Palestinians I've met who moved to Canada, were surprised that I didn't have horns as a Jewish person. Some less funny stereotypes too but that one was.... surprising given the physical proximity of Gaza to Jewish settlements.

I've made some friends with people who came from there, and once they're comfortable with opening up, what they say about the education over there makes perfect sense as to why the hate continues.

When you're teaching kindergarten kids to stab or drive over Jews, not Israelis, Jews there's not much hope for you to NOT be a terrorist.

The UN needs to do a better job of deradicalizing the education system over there, how that happens is way beyond my understanding.

I'm not saying Israelis can't be assholes, but I'm absolutely positive they're not teaching that hate in their education system.

  • Advancing the front is a tactic as old as warfare.... that's how borders moved historically.

Israel isn't doing the whole rape and pillage thing, those savages at Hamas are doing that. Israel has taken the plunder part too far imo though.

  • I'm in Winnipeg. A friend of mine has a family cottage 2 hours north of thunder Bay.

It makes no sense to me why they continue to torture themselves by keeping this property.

Why don't you sell your cottage and buy something closer?

  • I don't understand how you could see that in any other context? They're obviously developing settlements to maintain a front in the region. You can see from this week's events that having settlements adjacent to the border prevent the incursion from penetrating deeper into the country where the larger population centers are.

20, or 30 years ago you were seeing bombings in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. I was in Jerusalem for a bus bombing and just missed it.... Those have died down and been replaced with border skirmishes.

Whether that's a reasonable or effective strategy is a different question.

  • Pm of Israel and the leader of Hamas in a hell in the cell cage match? Fight to the death, bare knuckles because they're both obviously savages.

Losing side walks away peacefully.... winner gets shot in the head for being a pos and replaced with a less assholish pm? Step 4: Profit/peace.

    Where can you buy tickets?

  • The Day Israel became a country they were attacked. They've been on defense since day 1.

They're too heavy handed that's clear but they are not the aggressor or instigator in this fight. They've offered dozens of peace deals, brokered by a variety of 3rd parties, only to be rejected because Hamas wants Jews dead. It's in their founding Charter, just to be clear about who's intent is what over there in terms of aggression.

  • And let them murder Israelis. Sounds like you've really thought that through. They're terrorists. They're currently murdering women and children and saying they'll live stream it. They're not going to just stop murdering, they've turned down peace offers enough time that you should see that.

  • I'll agree with you while pointing out that Hamas has over 75% approval ratings in the strip.

People are in the streets cheering for the rape and murder of hostages. Not a few people, thousands of them.

Don't ignore this reality when forming your thoughts.

  • I'm not finding women being raped in the streets there? I'm not finding kids being gunned down in the streets, can you show me where the Israelis did that here?

They are not nearly the same even with your false equivalence.

  • How on earth do you claim Israel immediately started 'breaking agreements' when they were attacked on multiple fronts as soon as they became a country?

    That's some wild revisionist history.

Israel not only defended themselves but took land in the war. They then returned that land later on as a gesture of goodwill. Only to be attacked again and again....

  • Threads like this always blow my mind. People supporting Hamas here, you realize they're the same as Isis right?

They're literally dragging women thru the streets raping them, while people stand by and cheer. They're targeting women and children in the streets, non combatants. They're taking hostages as human shields and bragging about it.

Can people really support this? I can't support many of the actions of the Israeli government, but this is quite clearly not a case of both sides being the same and Hamas is the one making that abundantly clear with their horrific actions.

  • If only Hamas was the only threat, Hezbollah kicked into action when this started up.

The solution here is for the Palestinian people to rise up and get rid of the government that's using them as human shields. Israel has attempted to work towards peace before, only to be rejected by terrorists. Get a democratic government in place, and there's hope.

That hope is also dependant on the Right wing government of Israel being replaced but based on history Bibi won't last 6 months after this defensive failure.

  • Nobody will until Hamas is removed. That's a reality people refuse to acknowledge.

They're not freedom fighters, they're terrorists. They're the same fucking thing as Isis and they're proving it in real time right now. They need to be replaced so Palestinians can have a chance.

  • Saudi didn't say that. The other two are the ones who funded the attack so I'm not sure why anyone would listen to terrorists.

The Saudis are about to fuck the Palestinians as bad as the Israelis are, just diplomatically instead of with air raids.
