  • Now is not the time. After she is elected, get out there and put the pressure on her. But it makes no sense to risk the fate of the entire country on this.

  • But what good is punishing Harris by withdrawing your vote? What does this even do except inch everything closer to Trump - who will make the issue you're prioritizing, worse?

  • It's funny, I just finished Atlas Shrugged and it's crazy how Ayn Rand got it wrong about those who can "do" must also have the highest moral standards.

  • people want Trump to hurt people, the poor, emigrants, people of color, LGBT. Many Americans want all these people to suffer, for no other reason than their mere existence. Somehow this is OK to even extend to women in general too!

I can understand that this might be true of people, but sooo many people in this country are women, poor, emigrants, people of color, LGBT. To have as much support as Trump manages to have, clearly there are people within these groups that target themselves.. it makes no sense.

  • This^. You don't have to use YT.

  • “Semper Fi guys,” Vance said, seeming to signpost his background as a Marine to get the hecklers to stop.

"Isn't this a magic incantation that I can invoke anytime to clear me of ill will?"

  • Very well put. It sometimes feels impossible to put this insanity into words at the very least, but you've done that, so thank you.

  • And two years underwater only to have them for one month airborne.

  • I take almost 30 minutes to make 2 eggs some mornings, but they're perfectly cooked and wonderful.

  • Even uniformity can be aesthetically pleasing, but these icons are decidedly not.

  • I've only used 1% of my power

  • I would have said "mashed potato" for your first example.

  • One noodle/ a bowl of noodles. Or one bean, a bowl of beans.

But you wouldn't say: one rice. You'd say one grain of rice. So it's like rice is automatically a mass of many individual bits/grains of rice. Beans are not that way, they're countable.

  • look.

    look..

    look...

    look.... !

    look..... ?

? look ?? Is this even a real word?

  • I remember I was in 6th grade and the teacher made the class read a couple paragraphs of a book. She called on kids at random to read from their seat out loud for the whole class to hear, paragraph after paragraph. When it was my turn, the word "colonel" appeared, and it hadn't been said yet in the book. Now, I had heard of a ker-nal before, but I never assumed it would be spelled that way, so when I saw this word I just thought it was something else.

I got to the word and read it out loud as cahl-uh-null and needless to say there was many a snickering to be heard. Luckily I'm not easily embarrassed so it was fine, but I thought it was odd (and still do) that people generally act like this word being said this way is a given.

  • "of"

It's just odd that you're supposed to say it like it rhymes with "love". It's also almost always with other words, so by itself it truly looks suspicious.
